Hey there riu, just wondering if leafhoppers are a pest or worry on the plants ever? Ive had them each year now and they start around july as babys and turn into adults and stay there, ive really only noticed some leaf damage from the eating but never anything bad and they leave near flowering... But will they jurastically hurt the yeilds on a plant or anything to the point i should try to rid of them?

I get them too...and yes a little nibbling but nothing that makes me want to spray down my plants.

Sounds good, always good hearing from others too there input, yeah i usually shake them off when im there sometimes, and ill squish them when i see them on the leafs to keep the population on the plants down a bit, but didnt think was worth using any sprays over.

I get more damage from leaf hoppers than anything(leaves only). Some spittle bugs too but I think they are in the same family as leaf hoppers. I only use neem (more for pm prevention than pest issues) but it doesn't seem to phase them. I'm sure it slightly affects yield, but not enough to sweat over.

I've had them outdoor for years and it didn't seem to matter what area I was growing in. I think they do more psychological damage to the grower than the plants themselves, never really noticed a enough damage to make me do anything about it.

Try some DE if your temps are high. You can literally watch them jump off or bail off the plants.
Already applied some D.E actually a few days back just for prevention methods for other pests, wasnt sure if itd work on leafhoppers also, thanks for the info, lol i did notice they werent too happy with it when i shook some on the plants.

Make sure you use the puffer and apply it up the center towards the canopy. Like others have said, as long as they don't destroy more than a handful of leaves in a week, you should be ok.
