Leaves turning green and dying completly.

Ok my plants are about 4 weeks old and this is our first grow. They where being way under lit because my brother thought they only need a few hours of light a day but i fixed that problem when i asked him how long he was keeping the lights on. The grow closet is staying at a good even room temp. They are still doing good but looking better than before, more green and bigger pedals. But of course every one here knows when your plant sprouts it looks like a small clover. When your bigger pedals come in are the first two suposed to die? the ones that look like small clover pedals? our leaves that have lines are not dieing but under those where the small first two clover, smooth no lined looking pedals are dieing. They look like they are about to just fall off any moment. Is this normal?

It is normal for the first two leaves (not actually leaves) or cotleydon to die off. They usually die off after about a month so that is normal. They definately need more than a couple of hours of light, the minimus is 12 and that is for flowering. I prefer 18 hours of light a day for veg. I would research more before you take advice from others. Good luck.

No worries that's normal for those leaves to fall off.

thanks dude, and other pepole that helped. I all ready know everything i need to know, i just needed to check on the dieing pedals. We got our timeing now on to 18 on 4 off. They are looking so much better and it has only been a few days, they are turning dark green and are about three inches each and two smell like cronic all ready.

Alright dude, glad to here you got everything going good now,
But i might be a bit worried that your actually missing 2 hours in your light schedule..............lol
I know ya prob mean 18/6 or 20/4 either or its all good

Petals are on flowers, leaves are on plants. If you keep calling them petals, people down the road may not know what you are talking about.
