leaving for two weeks, unattended hydro setup

Dear riu.
I am leaving for 2 weeks or so and have a couple 5" tall plants which in the last few days have really started to grow fast (just added its first round of nutes, full strength veggie phase).
I'm leaving for two weeks and wont be able to attend to them. Just about how much growth can I expect in two weeks? I need to know how far to place the lights (40w FLs).
They are in rockwool, being watered two times daily (I started three times daily but the leaves we're a bit droopy, so i cut it back and they perked right up).
Thanks!
Hopefully, when I get back, they'll be monstrous and healthy.

Make sure water evaporation is accounted for. I have to refill reseevoirs every 2 days otherwise it gets dangerously low. The big concern is running out of water in a hydro set up. Put lights at a hight witch anticipates 1" a day growth. So 7 inches higher than they are currently.

Al B Fuct has a thread on his vacation hydro rig... worth a look.

with the CFL's you are going to be hard pressed to place them properly... having them too far away will just make the plants leg up to reach them and having them too close will obviously burn the fuck out of them.

i suggest going to Home Depot and getting a sheet of plexiglass to put between the bulbs and the plants.

others will tell you that the plexi blocks certain light waves and this may very well be true but i have run my CFL's both with and without the plexi and not noticed a difference in yield... and burned shitless plants definitely suck for yield ;)

Went to homies (home depot). They have 20W's FLs that will fit my fixture.
I've tried it and at operating temp (20mins on) they are warm, but not really hot enough to really burn the plants. I don't mind if they get a little less light, and grow a little slower, in exchange for a safer setup for them.
I think that will work well.
Running out of water is a non-issue. the reservoir is large enough to feed them for a month without refilling.
THANKS for the feedback!!!!
