LED Autoflower grow. 1st time.

2 raptor minis.jpgwhite devil 1 week.jpgSeeds.jpgflash babylon week 1.jpgcaramel 1 week.jpgHey fellow growers,

I am going to give LED lights a try for the first time and since there is not a ton of support for these lights on the web I wanted to document it so we can all see the results for ourselves. I purchased 1 Raptor x3 350 watt LED light from Black Diamond Lights. After doing a ton of research I decided to go with this small, rather unknown company to see what the results would be. I am growing 4 autos and 1 photoperiod in this tent. The photo plant will be moved when i am ready to flower. I am currently 1 week after germination and have 4 of the 5 seeds doing well. They are currently under 2 Raptor mini lights as I am still waiting on the main light to get here on monday. This should be a very simple, stealthy grow with a relatively low overhead cost. Below I have listed all the items being used in this grow and the price that I paid for each of them. Let me know if you have any questions. I will try to post weekly updates.

1 Raptor X3 Elite 350 watt LED light=$550

2x4 tent =$100
2 root pots & 2 air pots=$20
Roots organic soil=$25
2-6” inline fans for airflow=$50
1 mini fan for wind simulation=$15
Coleman outdoor timer=$20
General Hydroponics Max-Grow and Max-Bloom=$30
19-5 light cycle
Seeds from worldwide-marijuana-seeds.com
-Cream caramel Auto x2
-Northern lights blue auto
-Flash Babylon auto
-Spicy white devil (non-auto)
Germination started on 8-31-12!

This is a newer line of lights and they want to get their name around. I told them I was going to document my grow and liked the specs on their lights. They are confident in their lights so we made a deal in hopes that more people could see the output of them. I was originally looking at getting a used Advanced 200w for around $500 off Ebay, but it is better to have a warranty on something like this, and they seem to have one of the best in the industry. Only time will tell how well they work. For now I am just anxious to get it in the tent. Thanks for looking.

Lights finally got here this morning. Moved it in and cranked it up. This bad boy seems well worth the wait. Blinding light coming from it. Lets see how the plants respond to it. DSCN4187.jpgDSCN4188.jpgDSCN4189.jpgDSCN4190.jpg

Hey there gang. i need some input if you would please. Here are some pics i just took. i am about 2 1/2 weeks in and 2 out of the 4 are showing some signs of trouble. as you can see up close in the pics the back left cream caramel and the front right (also caramel) are curling some of their leaves upwards. Heat is not an issue as the tent is not hot and the light is not that close. i tested my water yesterday and my ph was way too high so i brought it down with the next watering. could this have been the issue? if so it will fix on its own, but if it was, then why arent all 4 of them doing it? why only the caramels?DSCN4237.jpgDSCN4238.jpgDSCN4239.jpgDSCN4244.jpg

Yeah man, after doing more searching for you I read that high ph can most def stunt the growth of your plants and start them to turn yellow and other nasty things... thank god we caught this now!

Well, being my first indoor grow and all i am bound to make errors along the way. It seems my ph issue has been solved and they are recovering nicely 3 days later. Not all of them. One of the caramels doesn't look like she will recover fully, or at all. The spicy white devil (non auto) is gonna be thrown out as i have no place for her. I have 3 more seeds germinating right now that i am excited for. They are Black Jack, Blue Crush, and Berry Ryder.

Here is a pic 3 days after adjusting the ph.

More seeds in dirt! Germinating only took about 30 hours total and now my 3 new plants are in dirt starting to grow. So i have 6 total in my 4x2 tent, and 5 of those are different strains so i will have plenty to smoke here in a few months. I am very excited for this, and in the meantime I am about a week away from harvesting 8 plants outside! If you read this and are interested in seeing LED technology really work with a low key, easy to grow setup, then follow along on this journey with me. I am using an unknown light called the Raptor x3 350 and so far it kicks ass. I am out to prove to everyone that this can really work.
