what does every one think of this?
I stupidly purchased this at work because i felt i needed it asap and i didnt think to seek guidance from all you LED guru's >.<

they say it has 112x1w LEDs that are "high power LED"
and that they provide "620-630nm and 660nm of red, 450-460nm and 460-470nm of blue wavelength provided"
Built-in cooling system (thermostatically controlled fans ) solve the heat dissipation excellently

from the reading Ive done, the 1W LEDs are not powerful enough, or at least not as powerful as the commonly used 3W and 5W LEDs used today. and possibly most of the bad reviews on LEDs to date are because the claims that they made on those 1W LED panel grow lights that just didnt produce as promised.

that was a good read. thanx. Im eagerly waiting for my Apollo8s with the 3W LEDs. let us know how the panel you picked up works out.

Sigh! Some good info mixed with really BAD info: To sum up then, what plants require for healthy growth is light that radiates at four specific wavelengths (two types of chlorophyll times two absorption peaks each). To be technical, chlorophyll “a” absorption peaks are at 430 nm and 662 nm, and chlorophyll “b” sits within “a” at 453 nm and 642 nm.

This suggests that the green range is not needed, which has been proven false, long before LEDs came on the scene. This falsehood has led to millions of R/B fixtures. And while plants do grow under them, they are missing the green range which acts as an accelerator , especially to Red spectrum

> BS: (unlike plants we favor light around the 550 nm mark). But the fact is that they are just wasting all this additional light since it is of little benefit to plant life.

It's as though the writer had an agenda, probably based on the old paradigm when White leds were not that good for plant growth. However, today, and for the last ~ year, whites have become prime time choices for DIY grow fixtures and light engines. You can find several mmj growers using primarily WW + NW leds

1w leds can be placed 3xs closer to plants than 3w to produce the same umoles. Something to consider when growing in a < 6ft H tent

And I am also doing my grow in a cabinet that doesn't give me much vertical height to play with. So hearing that the 1w can be placed closer then 3w is comforting to know

Hey peeps,

Like a lot of you I had trouble finding the right lights without getting ripped off, but did my research and finally took the plunge and bought a DS 350 XML -10w Cree there wasn't much out about them videos/blogs or even the company having proper info/videos for that matter but I read blogs and saw videos on there other lights and seemed to be ok. Well I am glad I went with them because Ive had no problems with the light its working amazingly! (so far)

Heres a link if you want to check out my grow!

Hi All Pro Growers,
I have posted a more thorough description of my grows with LED but just to make this post short, i purchased a GrowNorthern LED Ms-0006 Modular Light from a uk based company and have used it for 3 grows so far (at the end of the third) First two were Autos, excellent results, this one is regular and going very well, these lights are excellent aswell as their customer support.
They also have Live Chat through their website > www.GrowNorthern.com .
The owner Dan is a absolute pleasure to talk to about his products and all aspects of their use aswell and the 3 year guarantee is also excellent. No hassle, these lights are pretty easy to run even in the event of a LED cluster going, all the others will continue to work and the spectrum is spot on, i could go on and on (like i did in my other post lol) as i did look at other lights before deciding to buy these ones...comparing tech, spectrums, wattage etc....but im not trying to come across as advertising im just telling it how it is through experience of using this product and talking to Dan who has always been there for me at any time at the end of the phone.
Have also attached a pic of my current grow, Big Bang, shes at 11 weeks and topless as i chopped the top cola off yesterday, he he, (Pic also attached), trichomes were looking good enuff and i like taking mine at various stages of flowering, different buzzes. plus it helps the other buds to catch up. Proof in the pudding as they say.
Will have more pics as i get them people, Peace to all.

Nice pics, Roguetrooper, I love seeing pics of LED grows. Thought I'd share some of my stuff too, as I just had an awesome harvest with great yields per plant and some seriously dense, sticky plant matter :)

I flower with a couple of the larger black dog LED panels, one of the old platinums and one of the new ones from the universal series. No complaints from me or my girls.

I just posted the weights in my journal (check it out in my signature), this past grow was kind of a mini experiment for me and gave me a lot to think about.
