LED light bulbs, are they good for growing?

When I built my grow cabinet, I had no idea what to do, so I got myself 12x14Watt LED bulbs (100W eq)
for a total of 18 000 Lumens. do you guys think it will do a good job in my 4sq feet cabinet?
also should I pop off the bulb globe? I did it on one and it was such a pain

I made a Diy light with some 19w LEDs and it is currently out performing my 600w hps. And yes take the defuser off and the baffle . I used a portaband saw and carefully cut them off. Ohh I hope you have some ventilation in that cab.

I use the 3000k and 5000k , did you mix up the spectrums .

Thank you for your answer.
Yes I did mix up the spectrum and I have 2 air change per minute, temp is around 84F during light period and 68 during dark.
Also, is it safe to remove the diffuser?

Yeah the idea to remove the defuser was passed on to me from an article I read. It actually increases par. I would have been very sceptical of using this bulbs , but after reading the article ,I thought I would give it a try . I was just looking for some gentle light to put over a diy bubble cloner. After building my light rig it worked so well, I was very impressed . Then I needed some extra light for the clones until the hps was available and started vegging under them and wow they are unbelievable . Now I have the room under the 600w but I dicided to run one clone as a test comparison . The damn 19w LEDs are out preforming the 600w , I still think the 600 is going to produce more weight , because of par , but it's been interesting .

What do you mean by PAR?
Also, how many 19W did you have and what is your definition of 'outperforming', are you speaking of lumen per watt or how the yield you got after harvest?

Do you have a journal about your LED bulb grow?
No to lazy to keep up a journal. I only use them for veg. I think Cree 3070's or 3050's become more cost effective to get the light intensity you need for good dense buds. I do feel you could grow some decent bud under led light bulbs after watching the plants more than happy to grow under just 4 of them in 2x5 space. well pictures show it..

Par is what plants see , Lumen's is what people see. I forget what it means ,I am high right now.

Performance has been in bud sites, bud development. I haven't harvested from it yet. I'm only 13 days from flip.

The clones that I have under the 600w have smaller smaller/less developed flowers .

And I don't have a journal either sorry, since it's not legal here yet, I just don't trust myself to scrub all the meta data, so no pics from my local, no online ordering, no telling friends, no taking chances.

I had 129 actual watts worth of 2700k bulbs (mix of 15 & 13w bulbs from different stores, 9 bulbs in total) in a 2.9 sq foot cabinet. Went from seed to harvest with them so having another 3 bulbs in a space 1/3rd bigger would work out roughly the same. I got 3.5 oz and I am still a newbie grower so would expect more experienced people to do better.

I had to put some globes back on to try and spread the light as the plants were nearly touching and I had no more room to take the lights upwards, as it is only a 30" high cupboard.
I give the globes a good smack with a hammer against a concrete floor all the way round then jam a screwdriver in the joint and twist it. Try various places with the screwdriver, there is always a weak spot. Once you get the silicon sealant to move slightly they just pop off.

Found 2 pics I took earlier in the grow that show the plants with lights on - 1 at day 45 when I flipped, and 1 at day 60 when stretch ended. Bulldog seeds Northern Lights on the left and a freebie Bighead seeds Big Freeze on the right. Both ended up in a 13L builders bucket each that cost £1 with drainage holes drilled in the base.

When growing with these sort of bulbs it is probably best to spread the bulbs out and scrog / lst from what I have read. It worked out ok for me that way and I literally filled my small cab to capacity with canopy.
