Does blackstar have its own website the way blackdog and growledhydro do? I don't know about blackstar but it looks like you at least get more actual watts per $ with growledhydro than you do with blackdog

Hey Viagro I see you a lot in the LED threads, what LED lights do you use?
I have a Blackstar 240w that I've yet to use. I'm using a Kessil magenta in my small tent, right now. Approaching my first harvest with it. So far, so good, but I'm new to LEDs, I've just been fascinated by what I'm learning about them. Don't believe the bs.

gothamhydroponics.com (Where I bought my Blackstar.)

If I was going to get another LED, I would strongly consider an Apache. They have recently introduced an LED that has many benefits others do not. For my $$$, however, I prefer my Quantum Bad Boy HO-T 5. It allows ME to play Sun God by mixing bulbs to simulate spring planting through fall harvest spectrums. Also when bulbs lose intensity or blow, I can change them out as needed.

What are these benefits because I haven't found any grow journals or anything about them other than their website which isn't clear

Yes--I love the Sunshine Systems 45 Glow panel. It's been working beautifully during the early stages and vegging. Hightly recommend it.

I got some l.e.d's for me and a friend and he started his before I did mine. He complained to me that his plants wouldn't bud under them, and changed back to HPS. I only used mine for The veg stage and was wondering if there is any reason why they wont bud under the l.e.d's?

depends on what colors they put off, what watt rating LEDs are used and what they are actually powered to (can't run at full) along with the angle of each LED lens

he most likely had a veg LED light that wasn't meant for flowering (or it was a super crappy light and just could barely handle veg even)

You have any reason to think that besides guessing?
specs of the lights, much like buying an mh or hps. different light spectrums, wattage of lights, power used by lights, cooling efficiency, and getting 8000 lumens from over 40 feet away. I would say that would provide sufficient penetration.

What strain of pot is he growing? How did he start the flowering process? if they are thos cheap ebay 25 dollar lights then no but there are a lot of variables that take place. If you have a 16 week flowering strain, it will take a long time to show flowers, some show after just a few days under 12/12, some won't flower at all unless you do like a 30 hour dark period then start 13/11, 12/12, 11/13, something like that. try and mimic nature as much as possible and you will be suprised on how sticky your herb can get.
