LED Lights! Too much research... Please Help!

I didn't do any research, just asked a member what they would buy and they said a Timber redwood VS 600 light, so I bought three and at 600 watts they are outperforming my 1000 watts HPS at the moment. Not sure how somebody who hasn't tried LED can claim anything about performance, if you don't know why say anything? For real.

Well VS 600's are like 700-800$? I think when people say that they also include cost in the equation. These days If you got the cash to drop, you will get everything you need from an LED.

Edit: or you just go on Alibaba:)

I've used both. They're both great. My favorite is actually a combo of CMH and LED. But, it's hot here now, so I only have the QB's going for Summer.

This seems rude for no reason. I think LED lights are great, but a little over a year ago when I was looking at them the field was quite a bit different than it is just one year later. The Timber light you have looks pretty excellent, and I think I will look into them when I am ready to set up my second flowering tent. Since I was in similar position to the OP before I eventually decided to go with the 315 LEC I though it was worth a simple mention.

Happy growing!

Nothing rude about it, if you don't have experience with LED you shouldn't speak to their performance because you're speaking from a position of ignorance. I will say this, they are very expensive, I think one of mine was like $800? But you figure 13 cents per kilowatt and I am saving about $227 in electricity not counting heating costs and another $120 in bulbs a year so $347 savings a year. Warranty is 3 years I think so they will more than pay for themselves compared to a typical HID light.

I bought mine for the summer, but after seeing what they can do I don't think I am going to switch back in cooler months.

Few of my friends and I are thinking of doing a recreational grow op and I've been telling them we should go CMH and LED for that. I've been out of "commercial" grows for about 8 years now and just do a few tents for me and mine and those redwoods take up the whole tent so can't even think about adding more light.

Light came today at around 10:30 this morning. Ups just left it at the door. No extra costs.
I'm pretty impressed with it. Super fucking bright. Hooked it up in the living room while my girl was in our bedroom.. she said she thought it was the sun lighting up the room when i turned in on full blast.
Good quality, nice look, thick heatsink and a dimmer for 147us dollars shipping and everything. Can't beat it.
Damn thats dope!!! You got a great deal bro!! Wow! Their heatsinks and lighting wiring looks good! Now its time to put it to work!

You are right, I shouldn't have said anything about performance since I have never personally used any LED lights. When I got the LEC the final choice was about cost, I think I paid about $430 for it and that was the top of my budget at the time. I don't even remember most of the LED brands I was looking at, but they were all a couple hundred more. It seems like prices have already come down a bit since then, and I will have a little more to spend on my next light. I was just looking at the Timber 4VS rated for 3x3 and it's only $540 right now, looks like on sale from $600. If I ever get a larger tent I would like to try using both as PadawanWarrior suggested.

Whatever works best for you is the best option. I read that somewhere on the board and was like, word up! It seems like we pay for it at the register or the meter; we always pay! Lol. The Kingbrites and Meijiu were the best rated LED's from china that I ran across from peeps on the board. If you ever think about testing the LED market those guys are pretty decent! I'll let you know when I get mine. @Merkn4aSquirtn is happy with his!

I've been blown away by the timber. I wasn't expecting bud development to be quicker or it to do so well. I was just after less heat to be honest but I feel like the fuller spectrum is really helping the plants display more than they would under HPS at least. Now I have to hope they last at least 3 years or the wife will give me shit about spending 4k on a hobby.
