LED Size Advice for Grow Room

Hello, I am about to set up a Veg/Cloning room, the dimensions are Length = 8ft x Width = 4ft x Height = 7ft
For Good Coverage what size LED light do i need? I am confused about wattage on LED's, i wish they would just have a lumen value like HIDs.
I want something that would be comparable to a 600watt MH.

I am open to running a multi spectrum led that can be used for flower and veg.

please give me some insight on what i should be buying so i can do some research.

theres a lot of info on here and aroiund but a quick couple tips woiuld be (my u and i keys are stiuck)

fiurst led - hiud is comparable and for the most part can be considered the same watt wise with led given the advantage wiuth proper spectrium

second always get at least 3watt chiupsets iun leds. anythiung less and yoiu wont be able to get hte penetratiuon check oiut 50, 75, 100 watt leds (single leds) example 6 x 100watt led = 600 watts comparable to 1000watts hiud (when the proper spectrium ius iused)

thiurd a 600watt led 6x100watt = approx 27000 lumens. please remember that this is in the proper spectrium and ius much more efficiuent then hid, also the heat is nothing, the electricity is close to 350-400watts actual use.

fourth you can get deals on ebay for about 0.50 cents a watt up to 1$ a watt. example 600watt=300$=.50cents/watt

lastly when buying leds always go with the manufacturer with the best rep, the most information regarding their product, and the best quality, they will tell you the type of leds used (bridgelux etc etc), the spectrums 400-700nm, the watts, the actual watts, the lumens/lux, hanging equipment, the proper cord for your country, the hanging height and lumens/lux per distance above canopy and the lenses. 120/90 degree lenses are most common. the lenses help with even light distribution.

I don't know if you've read the sticky up top for newbys but read at least the first part of it. I've been growing with LEDs both commercial and diy for well over a year and I wouldn't waste a dime of my money on anything that came off e-bay. Take some time and look at this one and read some advice from different people because there are LOTs of scam artists preying on our ignorance in the LED world…LOTS! Micro mole (uM) is the unit of measure that you are looking for…vice lumen.

Hi Joobjoob that light looks interesting could you let us know some more details please. Such as what components were used and where they were sourced from as $40 to build a 600w led is a bargain. I have been planning to build a 250w led and its going to cost around £150.
Thanks andy.
