Thanks for the compliment. They do have some fairly bright L.E.D>'s out now that burn 25 watts. If I was building a grow light I would be using something like that, the UFO lights are using 1 watt diodes instead so the lumens are crap. The only reason is they can get'em cheap and make a big profit. ----
That is the only reason because the higher wattages come in the same color spectrum.
What a load of crap, you don't know shit about LED's. In actuality the higher wattage LED's only come in very limited choice of wavelengths, measured in nanometers. If you knew anything about LED's you'd know that they are described in terms of nanometers not spectrum. Nice try but you've showed your ignorance once again.
Now, if you want to talk about a real wide variety of LED's, you have to go with the 5mm's. They have everything you want from infra-red to ultra-violet and virtually anything in between. Anybody that knows about LED's knows this simple shit. This kind of mistake would only be made by a lying little weasle (that's you, la9), who is pretending to be a big dog (and doing a piss-poor job of it!).
I actually built a light out of high powered white LED's where I used to work out, they had them in a display, I bent up some sheet metal in the shape of a grow light and installed several rows of them, I then hung it over some lockers that didn't have any lights and it was bright enough to see the numbers on the combination locks, which you couldn't before but was still dim. These were some of the brightest LED's I had seen.
They probably will do better in the future look at how far the LED flashlights have progressed.
