led vs hps

For a blurple, the MEIZHI is the best I have found. All of them have the same level of blue but the MEIZHI has more reds and whites than any other blurple. They also have the highest efficiency of any blurple I have found. Imo, they are the best cheap China led.
This is exactly what I've spent the last two days trying to figure out but I couldn't find a definitive answer like yours on any forum. Thanks brother. And the increased white and reds is what I thought would make them slightly better/well rounded than the other cheap china LEDs after looking at the spectrum analysis of viparspectra, roleandro, mars, etc.

Good for supplementing your white cobs I guess. Did you say 50% efficient? Or that they were? Vipers spectrum is terrible. The Meizhi thingy would prolly be good supplemental.
But why bother w/ those cheap LEDs anyways? Maybe for tomatoes if you were serious w/ that but not for pot.
I liked my Hydroponics Hut spectrum to. Until it didn't flower for shit.

Something I noticed with a lot of grow diaries of those cheap ebay lights like ViparSpectra is that the diary starts out well up to first weeks of flower and then suddenly you never hear from them every again.

And all the people mentioning how impressed they are with it and learning they've only grown with CFL before.

That's the problem I was running into. I'd try to find grow journals on several forums to compare the cheap chinese LEDs, they'd have similar setups that I was thinking of running, their thread would start off great for the first few weeks and then they'd dissapear. Almost every time, the reviews all say how great the cheap led has been for veg, but you never hear back about how flowering went. I cant knock chinese LEDs for a small budget grow though. I pulled 5.5oz of dense Chocolope buds with a single plant 2x2 scrog using a 300w (true 135w) mars clone led from ebay and 60w of CFLs on my first and only grow a few years back. That works just fine for my personal needs.

I simply need a much bigger cob fixture. I recently was laid off so I won't be building one for a couple months. When I do, I am building no less than 600 actual watts. Preferably 1000. Even if I do a cheap diy it will still cost around $500- $1200 to build what I want.

What it then comes down to is that I can run my Vipar and the meizhi with some cfl's that I rotate out for now till I can buy the cobs. That is what I am stuck finishing with because it is what I have.

What I will state is that with all the lights I have I end up with around 800w over a 5x3.5 scrog with 2 plants.
