LEDS, anything else that won't conduct a lot of heat or use as much electricity?

Hey everyone,

So I just started a grow with two Glowpanel45's from Sunshine Systems. Mostly, I chose these because there are some people who have had some success with them, they're relatively cheap, and I was interested in seeing the results from an LED.

But I wanted to start a grow, with the same soil mixture (organics), with a light in the same price range, that wasn't an HPS. Does anyone have any suggestions for any lights that aren't LED, that will be more productive in terms of yields , in the $200 price range (thats how much both my glowpanels cost together).

Any links (because I'll be ordering this online), suggestions, or feedback are definitely appreciated. Just looking for something that won't run up the electricity bill like a HPS, which I've used in the past.

Used T5 fixtures are often available for a reasonable price and like LEDs are more energy efficient and cooler than HPS. Many threads have discussed the drawbacks of T5s vs HPS. Most conclude that the HPS will give a higher yield but will require more $$ to operate and will have heat issues as always. T5 performance comes closest to matching HPS when the lights are kept very close to the tops of the plants. Right now i am experimenting with a grow mixing a 300W triband LED and 2 200W T5 fixtures instead of MH and HPS. Has worked at least as well as MH for the veg cycle. Just flipped to 12/12. Fingers are crossed.
