It's an old document, it should be clarified that this has been accepted as policy. The document claims that it would be forwarded/suggested federal policy document at the time it was written. If it was accepted/voted on there should be a record of it they can provide. It may very well have been and not made public yet. Depends on their internal discussions/policy, I'd wait to adopt it until it was "leaked" into public domain and gage the reaction myself, would allow for tweaking based on public opinion/feedback before making it official policy.
All in all, other than some arguments on the personal grow limits, and taxation rates, this would be quite acceptable. Read the whole thing, I'd back it with some minor adjustments stated above. It's well thought out and difficult for Harper to argue without resulting to his fear-mongering policies, which I think by now are pretty predictable, and old...

Well I've spent the past hour or 2 combing over this "policy resolution". For the most part it seems pretty sound, but I agree with others that have said the plant counts and tax rates need to be adjusted to be truly effective in eliminating the black market while still allowing for medical patients to consume what they need. 30-35% tax is too much and what I feared would happen, tobacco 2.0.

This is a proposal, I don't see it as being a Federal Policy.
It is obvious that some people have spent a lot of work on this. For the most part it's good. A very good starting point.
So Yessica...
Perhaps the question should be;
In 2012 a proposal was drafted, what has happened to that proposal?

THIS is not legislation. It is not law - this is something that was written as a starting off point.
I was told they voted on it - and "passed it".
I am going to ask to see the actual, final document. I want to see with my eyes the rules and regulations.
Maybe they haven't written them yet? That's fine - I will wait to read them after they do.
I can be VERY persistent. It's a blessing and a curse...

You are making this up, or someone lied to you. I'm guessing the former. It is not LPC policy, which is why they have released nothing stating it is their policy. Your initial link, as leafer points out, is to a provincial wing of the Party. I'm a long-time Liberal, but it's just not true that they have made legalization a policy yet. And it CERTAINLY was not voted on and approved in March. That's just nonsense.

By who? "Policy" means something very specific. Even the LPC website merely says they will 'consider' aspects of legalization. They'll string the cannabis crowd along as long as they can without making any promises. And, as your posts make readily evident, they needn't even make promises, as you're already under the impression they have.

I talked to a member of the Liberal party, who is the VP in charge of the liberal volunteers in my area. He told me, on the phone last night - that they voted in March and that this paper from 2013 (I think) is the policy they are running on.
That's what I am basing all this off of. But - at the meeting, I plan on asking.

There should be no rules governing it. But I'm not surprised they want them. If let free it's a threat to the power structure that exists.
It's better than what we've got, but my concern is people will simply accept it and move on. That would be a huge injustice to humanity.

Yessica, we are in this together. No one is bashing you. I appreciate the effort and digging. We have to be really careful here. It's one thing for a member to say that this is what we are going with, and another thing to see an official policy or to hear JT say it.
Politics is dirty business. Parties say whatever they think people want to hear.
Again I think the question should be....there was a proposal, when will it become official policy?
If the answer is...it already has...then we need specifics ( I don't see a record of a March vote )

You are right, the main thing wrong with politicians, is that they are politicians. They want votes, and money, and people to support them.
I will ask, everyone I can, if I can see the actual document they plan on "moving forward with". Not a paper written full of motivational quotes and possible ideas - but what is ACTUALLY going to happen if they are elected.
They can skirt around the issue for awhile, sure. But they can't for a whole year. Not without getting very very annoyed with my daily e-mails.
