Let Me Hear From A Responsible Smoker

I smoke around 4g's daily and work 45-50 hours per week. Married, and have a "Piggy". I'm not as responsible as I would like, but enough to take care of the things that are important.

Let me clear things up. If you are under 18 (haven't lived long enough to show you are responsible yet), if you do not have a job without a reason, and/or you live with your Mom or your Dad and you do not have a good reason, or you are a high school drop out without a good reason and you also smoke weed then I consider you an irresponsible smoker...Is this clear yet? If you don't like my opinion I do not care. If you fall into the above categories(other then the fact that you are under 18 ) not only are you an irresponsible smoker but you are also a freaking moron and yes you ruin the possibilities for hard working Americans to sit down and smoke a joint instead of hammering a 6 pack after a long hard week of work.

I'm Not Responsible But I Do Not Fall Into The Irresponsible Section I Just Do not Like Being Responsible

Well I'm a full time student but no job. I'm majoring in CS and minoring in philosophy. albeit my resume is rather short. I don't drink and well I haven't smoked in a while. Even when I did it wasn't that frequently. So i'm not sure if you can consider me a smoker.

There's no such thing as smoking responsibly! Smoking marijuana is against the law and even worse, it's a SIN!!!! God will punish you for your immoral actions. You cannot say that you're a responsible smoker when it's against the law..............come on guys!

I kid.........I smoke every night, have a Ph.D in philosophy, and hold down a teaching job. I own my home, pay all my bills, have a wonderful wife. I don't smoke at work or teach while high - I just smoke because I like it. At night, it helps me relax and ponder life's queries.

im not trying to be an asshole and disagree but from the age of about 15 to 18 i was working two jobs about 28 hours on the weekend and about 25 during the week while attending highschool from 6 am to 12 pm i had absolutly no free time which sucked but i always enjoyed to smoke every no and again ..... to the future im 20 now and attend college 6 pm too 11 pm and still work 20- 35 hours a week which both require me to be on my feet because im in the culinary field and i dont think id be able to wind down and relieve the pain in my knees and back without a toke but i dont let it break me so i believe after this auto biography that you are able to show responsibility at any age as long as your actions are correct

Immanuel Kant. A 1600's modern philosopher whose main work was the Critique of Pure Reason and who is known for his deontologic ethic. Yep, I know him, I teach him, but I don't necessarily like him...

I take it you do...?

I find his arguments very interesting. He does have a very low opinion of people. Which is why people see him as being high an mighty but I don't necessarily see him that way.

I'm glad that someone finally knows who kant is. Most people thing/assume that it's a variation of the female genitalia slang.

Responsible smoker here. I've never been unemployed and while I'm just a glorified male secretary, I don't know what I want to do with my life (early 30s) as far as a job. I mean I hate work. My job isn't bad... it's stable, I get good benefits, and the pay is enough for me to live comfortable w/ my lady... but I fucking hate working. I don't smoke & drive unless I have to (rare, like 2 times in my life) and don't smoke at work (tried once, scared me too bad). So I think I'm responsible.

Yeah, he was a dick. Here's a quote from him that I always give to my classes:

"When I wanted a wife, I couldn't afford one. But when I could afford one, I had no use for one"

He was a prick in life, but that doesn't demean his philosophy. He has some great ideas and his ethic is what we base our society on. He's legit as hell, but my specialty is ancient philosophy, not modern. Either way, I respect him. It's good to see a fellow philosopher here!

I don't feel I have a low opinion of people. I'm quite a nice person and see the good in many when others do not. From my experiences growing up though, I have seen poor decisions and chosen lifestyles (which I classify as irresponsible) putting marijuana use in a darker shade of light then say alcohol(even though maurijuana is safer). Everyone has problems but when something is getting in the way of a resolution to these problems then this "something" should be set aside for a bit. Unfortunately since this dark shade of light has been cast because of irresponsibility, politics, or what have you then it is up to marijuana users to try and change this shade of light if any progress can be made regarding marijuana's acceptance. I'm sorry if people feel I am riding a high horse because I have made judgements on specific behaviors I have seen in others, but I firmly believe certain individuals in specific situations should not use marijuana and if you do use in these situations you are irresponsible and you are not helping the marijuana movement.:leaf:
