Lets design a veg and flower room

High rollitup a lil new to this sight but ive learned so much
Im thinking of grow room design and what to choose
MH hps t5 cmh cfl drip systems dwc sog soil aeroponics

so much to choose im thinking about hydro systems so.....

lets design a killer grow room
lets let the opinions and debates fly
should be fun

ok.... so what are your dimensions that you want to work with? Please post a lot more specifics or nobody can help you

Been thnking and reading and think just a basic little 5x5 room
and some sort of hydro setup for id say 5-10 plants
theres alot tho and im just wondering the opinions of rollitup up growers on what kinds of systems and strains would be the best for a new grower

so i guess for starters how many wats do you think hps wise would you need for 10 plants

and also hydro systems
dwc seems nice but it seems like its a 2-3 plant thing and getting enough air pumps for 10 buckets would seem costly...and if your running a rubbermaid 6 plant dwc hermies and males seem like a problem{destroying roots to get them out because they grow together} so wondering about other hydro systems that are easily maintained

will fit 9 plants in a 3'x3' area
would want a 400w or 600w HPS for a 3.5'x3.5' area.
atleast 6' height for 3' tall plants at harvest, depending on what youre growing in. hempy setup would be the shortest height as no need for res so no need for pots/tray to be above the res. would want about 8' for any recycling setup.
atleast 500cfm of exhaust plus cool tube for light. maybe need more if ambient temps are high plus a bit to allow for losses in piping and scrubber.
a drip or flood and drain system should be easy to setup and maintain. a hempy is easy if youre always around to water, you could work out an auto watering setup pretty easy though. DWC wouldnt be easy for a lot of plants i dont think.

the design really depends on exactly how you want the plants to end up at harvest.
9x1' plants wont need as much space or light as 9x5' plants.
topped, fimmed, sog, LST or scrog can all make a diff to the setup required.

1000 watt HPS is ideal for the amount of plants you want to grow

Thanks for the info But im wondering will a 1000 wat hps just run off a wall plug or blow a breaker would u have to wire it up somehow

i am liking the flood and train hydro techniques seems pretty easy to maintain and build

well the light itself is hooked up to a ballast which is hooked p to your basic outlet... you should be fine but it does rape your energy bill

my 400 watt runs only 15.00 bucks a month.

i found that replacing all my house bulbs with cfls really helped bring down my costs...granted im only using about 600w for my total grow...but anything that helps...is help

it should be 30-50 bucks per 1k light extra
