Letting Them Bulk Up

Got another Grower helping me.

He has been telling me when to cut but I haven't been getting the weight I should.

Been getting good high but I think cutting too early.

He is just looking and saying when they are ready. How do I get him to hold off?

Got some now I'm saying are close He has been busy with other stuff. I'm watching couple Colas and they are bulking.

Just tell him nah, they got another 2 weeks to go yet.
Knowing him he will get mad and tell me where to go. I do depend on him for stuff I can't do like messing with the light and filter.

I really do want to wait.

On this grow now I had problem with Gnats and messed up. Basically killed the Fan Leaves I was thinking all was lost.

He looked at them and said no. He pulled all the Fan Leaves off and left the Sugar Leaves. They are really looking good but just need to wait.

read this and see where your plants are in the process. Then you can explain to him that your plants need more time to properly ripen. That will help maximize your yields and quality.

The signs of ripeness are pretty standard for cannabis plants.

First a few of the pistils begin turning color and start receding. Your plant is just starting to ripen. Depending on the strain you could still have two months to go. We're just starting this journey.

Two to four weeks later you'll notice that most of the pistils(>80%) have now changed color and curled back into the bud. It's frosty, way bigger than it was a few weeks ago(aren't you glad you waited), and smells dank! It's time, right? Not a chance killer. Patience is a virtue.

Over the next 2-3 weeks it doesn't look much different, maybe a little more swelling in the calyxes, and the rest of the pistils change over, but the stems are starting to bend under the weight of the buds. These ladies are putting on weight internally by adding density and now the buds are doing their final ripening.

Now you can begin looking at trichomes, on the calyx, not the leaves, and harvest according to your preference. When looking at trichomes it’s essential to look at them from the side. The bulbous heads can magnify the opaque stalk under it. Looking from the side allows you to more accurately see the condition of the resin in the trichome head.

There is still no rush to harvest, the window just opened, and you have several weeks before you MIGHT start having to think about it possibly beginning to get too ripe. It takes WEEKS for plants to mature not days.

It is very easy to harvest a plant to early. It is very hard to harvest a plant to late. I’ve never seen someone accidentally wait too long.

Your plants will developed a red/purple hue/tint when they r ready. Wait till you see that happen. If it just looks green it's not ready

So both of those plants should have 3 weeks to a month left if they were healthy. You can tell they are both still trying to push out fresh new bud growth because of the white stigma(hairs). That means the plant is still trying to grow and reproduce.

However

With the condition they are in, they are definitely getting towards the end. I think I would still try to get a couple more weeks out of them but you will want to watch the spots with the dead sugar leaves areas like that in the bud can result in rot starting.

Well I'm letting them sleep. I couldn't take leaves off anyway my legs don't work and something on my head and shoulders.

I'll be ok. I think!

Well he was wanting to cut today.

I didn't lie I told him I was reading on us not getting weight. I told him we wasn't letting them bulk up.

He just said ok everyone has their opinion.

This morning I picked the dead leaves off pain one handed picking and turning them around. I did this before going outside.

Been having a problem with White Flies. Seen I had them in my Peppers, could rain so I took some potted Basil out there.

I've messed up couple times but learning more.

Girl Scout Cookies, in Sunshine 4, fed Rainbow Pro Mix, in 5 gallon Fiber Pots, under 700W Updayday Light.

Going to Living Soil, set them on Rollers next grow.
