Lexel Silicon sealant safe for use on RDWC bulkheads??

Doesn't say anything on the bottle regarding aquarium use. I've noticed my bulkheads leaking on the inner side (where the pipe is inserted) as well as from the outer rim of the bulkhead so I've turned to silicon sealant. What do you guys think? Anyone have experience using this in hydro? Wouldn't want to use something that would be toxic to my plants.

Yes and I use aquarium sealant, rough up any smooth spots that the sealant will contact with sandpaper. 5 bux at home depot for a tube of aquarium sealant. The sealant you have should work also I'd say.

I raid the DEA.. its a joke/wordplay. A cop username would be more conspicuous.. like, for example, "dbkick" :). I actually went to home depot and they didn't have any aquarium rated silicone. You think ill be fine?

They didn't have aquarium sealant(all home depots carry that shit) ? where fuck are you from? Maybe they don't sell to cops. ....just kidding but yeah I think you should be fine with that sealant even without knowing wtf it is. Bath and sink stuff? silicone is silicone I guess.

Lol Oregon bruh. Maybe the employee was misinformed. Would've hit the aquarium shop but it was closed! Thanks tho.

You'll be fine. I had the same problem with my rdwc and used silicon no problems.

Turns out the sealant is actually NOT silicon, it is a "solvent-based co-polymer rubber sealant" but is much stronger than Silicon in other applications.. Will it still be acceptable for constant submersion in rdwc? And not toxic to the plants upon interaction with nutrient water?

Call the manufacturer or go for trusted silicone.

Sigh. I guess I will have to remove all of it! spent 2.5 hours applying it to my buckets trying to be proactive. Lesson learned.

You didn't bother googling reactions or anything before applying it? Did you google to see if it was toxic before you scrapped it all off?
