I got a bit of a problem, you see i got a switchable fixture, and i started running a 100w bulb in it but the damn thing got so hot it fried the top of one of my buds, pretty good too. I was sooooo pissed, but thats beside the point. Is this going to affect much? i meen i know its not gonna get any new growth on the top, but will it still keep fattening? It fried alot of the leaves on the bud, but not much of the pistils. So do you think it will recover from the burn or what? Ill put a picture on if needed.

70W is not that much. How many plants do you have going. If you switch back to the 100W bulb, do you have room to raise the light away from the plants a little. Do you have any ventilation in your grow area such as intake/exhaust fans, oscillating fans, box fans, etc?

the whole system runns roughly 335watts ( thats all the lights ) its not much but hey it works pretty damn good

Basically its just one 70w hps bulb, 2 55w dual florescent fixtures, 65w big cfl, 40w cfl reflector light, 22w cfl, and a 20w 20 inch florescent light

i didn't know you had other lights lol. on my first grow i had serious heat issues and came home one day to find my beautiful plant wilted and burned very badly. i kept giving it water and lowered the temps a bit and she came back.

There now you can see the burnt bud, do you think it will recover? in the second pic you can see some of the other tops. And in the other two pics you can see some the lights but not all of them there is a CFL that you can see and there is also another florescent light that you cant see. But you can see pretty much everything else.

I'd get in there with a small pair of scizzors and trim away the burnt part of the leaves. If any individual "finger" is more than 3/4 burnt - take the whole "finger". The burnt leaves aren't doing you any good and they are blocking light. The whole idea is to take away as much "brown" as you can, while leaving as much "green" as is reasonable.

Ok, i did that, it looks ok now. I took all the burnt dried up leaves and pistils off. Even if it does recover and accually get a lil bigger. its almost at its end, im just waiting for the trichomes to change to their amber color. then i can harvest, id say probably 2 weeks at the most.

i just did the math and i got roughly 26,000 lumens. And the whole system runs roughly 335 watts. id say thats pretty good. Ya think?
