Light Comparison T5 - 1000 MH

I was curious how many t5 florescence would equal out to a 1000w MH. I had been using the HID, but I found a good deal on 3 decent 4'x2' 4 bulb T5 fixtures I planned to use for a garden or vegging but was curious how close they equal out to my 1000w

I don't think any amount is going to equal the intensity and penetration of a 1000 watt HID. You'll need them on top and on the sides all around the plants.

If you found a good deal on some fixtures they are worth getting. T5's make excellent lights for starting seedlings and vegging. But they are not going to come anywhere close to using a 1000 watt in flower. I use one of those same size fixtures in my 2 x 4 veg tent. You need to make sure they're HO fixtures.

you can get t5 ho which are 10.000 lumes per bulb so about 6 -8 bulbs

21 F54T5ho bulbs 5000 lumens /bulb times 21 equals 105000 same as 1000watt MH
