I have three 75watt work station clamp lights recently purchased from a local hardware store, does anyone know definitively iif I can use any size bulb in them up to that watt. I want to purchase some compact flourescents to aid in my vegging area, and currently have 18watt CFL's in them which are the equivilent to the incandescent counterpart. Please any info would be greatly helpful.

you're just fine as most cfl bulbs are less than 75 actual watts. the equivalent watts number is meaningless

yeas..its all about the wattage....you can use any cfl or incandesant(which are no good for growing) in that light up to the aproved wattage....other flourous and hid bulbs need seperate ballasts to run them...

for flowering, you want 75 actual watts per square ft of growing area. maybe half that for vegging.
