Light hours

I just got one question .. how many hours of direct sunlight does it take to weed to grow and stay in veg an not start to flower . I hear some many peoples say you got to find a sunny spot to grow in well how do the gorilla growers do it . I was going to do it in my back yard tell people started telling me how bad it smells an that it could be smelled from 200 yards or more. So I got a spot in some woods but its not thick so my plants would have some light an is close to wanted an far away for anyone to find its in the middle of no where . So back to the question at hand what is more important hours of light or hours of direct sunlight thanks for any advice in advance

During veg the more direct sunlight the better. During mid summer mine get a gods 11-12 hours. That said. You should aim for 8+ hours of direct sunlight during the summer months.
I plant around mid May when my area gets about 15 hours a day sunlight. There are websites that will show the sunlight hours for your area. Flowering is induced by the reduced number of sunlight hours each day, after the summer equinox the days begin to shorten. I see visible signs of flowering in early August.

Yeah I understand all that but how much light do I really need in the patch of woods I want to grow in for it to be enough light for it to grow my plants

The more light, the better your results. You can grow with little direct sun but don't expect much. If you're gonna do it, put in the effort and you'll be happy you did come harvest time. Plants in the shade are more prone to instects and disease, things to think about. Best way to learn is try it yourself and learn from your mistakes but it helps having others around to advise you. Grow on bro

In my opinion they need at least 5 hours to thrive, any less and you won't be getting too much.

what's your latitude? make sure it's warm enough before you plant. Last year I planted too early and had flowered plants that took months too get back to full veg.
My ideal planting time is late October(April for you) for seeds and somewhere in November(May) for clones to be on the safe side. Most indica dominant plants flower mid to late January here, the more sativa leaning plants can be anywhere from February(august) to late march(september) before they start flowering.

Oh yeah make sure to protect your plants! nothing worse than animals wrecking your plants.

Goodluck on your guerilla mate.

Not sure about anywhere else but here in South Florida indicas generally start flowering with 14 hours of sunlight or less and sativas 13 or less.

Considering it never gets to 14+ hours here indicas will flower immediately and sativas have ample time to stretch their legs.

Like I said in the middle of my post. The more the better. I'd shoot for as close to 8 hours as you can, it will grow and mature on less but most likely stretch and be spindly stretching for sunlight and have a light yield .
