Light issues - Advice needed

Had some probs with my last set of clones. Medium = soil (Pro-mix & perlite 1:1). Bought clones and put them in 4 inch pots till they out grow pots and re-pot into 2 gallon pots.
Question 1: I have 1000 MH lights. Should I (for the 1st week) raise them to about 2.5 feet from the top of my starts!?!
Or should I go and purchase some 400 MH lights for the 1st week.
Question 2: My water (really nice well water) comes out at PH 7 . When I feed my plants, I normally ph the water down to about 6.0. Should I lay off a little for the first week and perhaps bring the Ph to about 6.5 instead!?!
Question 3: I normally only feed my plants Ausie tonic (1ml/liter), biogold and on my 2nd watering, some rhizotonic for the roots (although I will wait till the 3rd watering for rhizo as it is so alchaline -brings my water up to 8.0- that I gotta put lots of ph down in the mix which I think is hard on the plants as well. I choose not to feed food for the 1st 2 waters, till my outflow reads 350ppm, then I will feed a bit of cal-mag and a touch of veg food. Does this sound right?

And lastly, should I hold off on CO2 enrichment for the 1st week or so!?!

uhm. i dont grow soil. But, no need for the 400w, i am already jealous of you 1000s dont make it worse. Just raise them to what works, for the water.. i Would keep a 15gal rubbermaid with your solution in it. Add your PH down days before the nute mix. check ph, adjust.. and water.

Thanks for the feedback. I beleive that my issue was truly with my PH levels. I was feeding my last batch at a 6.0 ph, which I think is a touch low for soil. This batch of starts is gonna get 6.5 PH, and I will keep the 1000's at just over 2 feet for now and lower to 18 inches over the next 8 days or so. Does this all sound about right!?!

How about the CO2 issue. I had the CO2 in the room at 1000ppm venting(replacing the air with outside air just before lights out and just after lights on for 15 minutes each via a 12 inch outtke/8inch intake system. Should I wait to use CO@ till clones are a couple of weeks?????
