light leaks

I've built a stealth cabnit in a corner of my house. Over the past 12 months when finances and the wife have allowed slowly expanded it from a 600mm X 1000mm square into a 3000mm x 1000mm room with a secret entrance.
because of the way its been built there are light leaks in places that would require a major rebuild (i'm no builder which is why this happend).

i have seen in a few places people use green lights in there grow rooms to do work after dark without having any effect on the plants.
What i'm thinking of doing is putting a few strategically placed green L.E.D.s to dilute the light leaks and hopefully nullify any damage.

i thought i could use a sting of xmas lights on a reversed timer and only leave in afew green bulbs where they are needed, i figured out over xmas they dont need all the globes and will keep on working.

what do you reckon? will it work?

green tiki torches. but seriously........perhaps construct a cardboard, light-tight enclosure within your space.
