are they autos? Why leave it off. If they are not autos it shuld be on a timer anyway and yes it will put her back to veg or on stall in flowering
It wont put it back in veg, but it has a VERY HIGH potential to hermie.
People do "dark period" stress right before harvesting, because the plant puts all it's energy into trying to save the plant by producing stronger flowers. With a plant not very close to being done flowering, the plant will still want to save itself from the stress of excessive dark, and will accordingly make male flowers to try to pollinate itself and make seeds.
You NEED to buy a timer. If they are autos, 24hr is not recommended under flower but is better than complete dark.

yah, why not just get a timer and set the timer for the right on / off times? you can get a cheap timer for like five bucks or so, a great investment..
but it's much better and safer to leave the plants in 48 hours of darkness than it is to leave them in 48 hours of light during flowering..
they should be fine so long as they have plenty of water and everything else that they need in 48 hours, nothing major is going to happen to them.. you'd have much more to worry about if you had to leave them in the light for that long that far into flowering imho..

Is your set up unsafe? If you're afraid of that than you probably shouldn't be running the lights when you are home either.
Got to agree here.
At the least, there should be some built-in redundancy, be it an extra cooling fan or a temp cutoff switch...

I left for 7 days with 9k in lights and god only knows how many fans on and off all the time. If you set up correctly nothing to worry. Don't listen to your girlfriend, i know mine always talking shit about fires or pets i might kill etc.. fuck that you do it right the first time so you have piece of mind
