Lighting Question

I currently have a 400W Metal Halide and a 250 watt HPS, I was wondering how many plants I could actually grow efficiently with these and whether or not it would be beneficial to run them both for all stages of growing?

use them both although a 400 watt hps would have been a better and more useful buy.Depends how you grow on the amount of plants.Id say 12 plants could grow pretty much any style unless you grow big then stay to 4-6

Well, All my fans and lighting was all free, my dad works for a contracting company and I pretty much get free reign over his shop, he gives me the keys to the shop and tells me to get whatever I need, I was only able to find a 250w hps ballast and a few 250w bulbs because not many people use 400w HPS bulbs.. but yea, when you say "big" what do you mean? I want to get enough bud to where whenever its time to harvest Im already germinating new seeds and getting ready to grow them, I just want enough smoke to last me until my next plants are ready to harvest, father and I are casual smokers so 1-2 ounces normally lasts a few weeks or more..

Also just a quick side question, If you look in my gallery you can see my small little plant, I realized after It started growing that wasnt enough soil but do you think it would hurt for me to transplant it at that size into like a 5 gallon bucket and just put 3 gallons of soil in it or so, or would it be ok to wait until it's a bit bigger?
