My growroom is about 3 ft X 3ft and I'm on a budget, trying to save myself some money but have a somewhat sucessful outake. I was just curious if I could get some suggestion of what type of lights to bye, that work well with your plant and are cost effiecent. :leaf: :leaf:

I would get a 400watt HPS system. I have seen them from $119.95 complete (Light, Ballast, hood etc.)
Just make sure you keep your room well ventilated for heat control.
You can get by with CFL's but you yeild will be much greater going with the HPS.

in a space that size I would go get a 150 watt hps at lowes and and 4 26 watt cfl's for side light and I would veg 8 plants. you should end up with 4 plants after you sex them. The lighting should cost under a 100 and will defininitly pay for itself

Would I need to order that offline or could I find one of those in my local hardware store or home depot?

i have a 3x3 room. blew it up with 600w of HPS. pays for itself first harvest. cfls work but if you want the highest potential stick with HPS. i have 20 plants in my room and am very happy with my light. just do it.

If you are stuck on what to buy...you can do what I did. I just had an old flouresent ficture laying around and started my seedlings with that. Then, that gives you time to decide what to buy. But i've grown 2 plants all the way into flowering with 1 26 watt cfl...so anything is possible, but i wouldnt recommend just using one little bulb like i did. lol

This is a quote from Marijuana Horticulture the Indoor/Outdoor Medical Grower's Bible 2006, "Growers use HID lamps to replace sunlight indoors and grow outstanding cannabis. High intensity discharge lamps out-preform all other lamps in their lumens-per-watt efficiency, spectral balance, and brilliance. The spectrum and brilliance of HID's help growers replicate growth responses induced in cannabis by natural sunlight.

Watt for watt, a 600-watt HPS produces seven precent more light then the 1000-watt HPS. The pulse start metal halides are also brighter and more efficient than their predecessors. _
