Lighting situation

I wanted to ask about wattage when it comes to a light setup.

I also have a grow tent with the following dimensions;

120x60x180 [centimetres]

, and wanted to know if having a 600w MH/HPS would be too hot for a small area like this? I'm also curious to know whether you get much difference between 400-600w.

How many plants could be covered by one 400w/600w and would it be worth maybe getting 2 x 400w MH/HPS or would hear become a problem.

600w has better penetration and more lumens, along with more heat than a 400w

With the rectangle shaped room I think two 400w would work better than one 600w. Look into cool tubes.

As for how many plants? in a 4 ft x 2ft area I personally would only grow like 3 or 4 plants in the area, it really depends on how long you want to veg for. Amount of plants just depends on how big you want each to be.

Either way you will NEED to run a fan and filter system, your looking at around $150 for the fan carbon filter and ducting.
1 X 600W is fine for such a small tent, you should be able to grow 2 FULL plants in that space i wouldnt try for any more because you will just get less product.
2 plants in that space will fill the tent if trained properly through pinch/fim/topping and you can still maintain an even canopy and pull great numbers at the end.

I have a similar setup and I use an inline fan with a cool tube. So far Ive only grown in winter at this location in the basement but my temps are where they should be.

I also have a similar set up... tent is 20" x 36" x 60" 400w cool tube and 220 cfm booster on intake side blowing over the bulb. Temps are perfect...I multi-topped, super cropped, lollipoped, and put in a Scrog screen this last Saturday (my 1st Scrog ever)...2 plants. I am hoping for 1/4 pound dry.

if you put in good work during the training/screening or install a 600W instead i really dont think youll struggle to pull closer to 1/2 a lb+.
1g/W really isnt that un-achievable, there are people on these forums who pull 2-3g/W.
