lighting

well i just got my plants in for this comming spring so i can throw theme outside. it's still 2-3 days from sprout but i wanna be ready when it comes. i dont have much experiance with indoor growing so i was wondering if i have two general flourecent light bulbs inside a sloset beating down on all three plants From two feet away will that be ok cause i cant get them any closer i just dont want my babies to strech, but yeah 2 feet away is ok right?

from what I have read, it will grow but not very well- I am new to this however. I believe that the lights lose alot of their intensity the farther away you place them. Since flo lights stay pretty cool, I would try to get them closer any way that you can, or go with a hps. with an hps, 18-24 inches is the recommended distance i think. You also may get better results using different tubes instead of the general ones. I have read that high color temps like 6500k do well for veg growth and low temps like 3000-3500k are good for flowering. The one thing that I am sure of though, with indoor growing, the more light - the better
