Lights and germination

I have finished my new grow rooms, and while I shop for clones I am experimenting with some bagseed. I have a seed tray with a humidity dome and warming mat, with rapid rooter plugs as the grow medium. I am 48hrs in and a couple seeds are splitting open, what I want to know is when to add light? As soon as some green is visible? Right now? Thanks!

never used the rapid rooter plugs....but when I germ mine I wait for the taproot to be about a 1/4 inch then drop it into some soil and start my light schedule even though they havent "popped" up outta the soil yet

Yeah get lights on now or they'll pop and have no light and next time you look they'll be stretching.

I am using two methods to compare for grins and giggles. The plugs, and the more conventional paper towel/dvd case method. So far the plugs show more signs of success. I am going to give it one more day in the dark. Thanks BOOGS!
