So during the dark period a simple light leak or anything can chance a hermie. I have been reading that a green spectrum does not get absorbed by the plant. Read it a few places and have heard some talk but never heard where to get them or exactly what type bulb it would be. Anyone have any idea? I know be patient dont bother her anyway but its still a valid thing. Please if you know about it give me your opinion. Thank you and rep for who knows about it.

my two cents: Green plants do not absorb green light, they reflect it (hence why they look green). So yes, I'm confident that if you have a light that emits over a very small bandwidth in the green regime, it should be fine to use during the dark period. You'll have to be careful that your light ONLY emits in the green wavelengths however. A light can appear green even while still emitting in the red, yellow, blue range as long as it emits MORE in the green wavelengths. So that kind of a light would be bad for your dark period.

So to really know if a light will work, you'll need to look at a plot of emission (or intensity) versus wavelength for the light and make sure that the light almost exclusively emits in the green wavelengths (490-530 nm). My guess is your best bet would be a green LED. Good luck!
