Like Unto A Garden

This writing is not my own, however it is not owned by any body. I wanted to share it with you. I have changed a few words in order to permit readability by the widest possible audience. For example, instead of saying "Quercus" I would change it to "Oak Tree". Nothing fundamental is lost, only changed.

***

Like unto a garden are the awakening. They flower and blossom, and violet is the predominant hue they project. Occasionally, even those who are essentially Self-realized succumb to a discordant seed, and their momentary distraction may call forth an invasion of weeds. But such annoyances can always be uprooted. Natural harmony is easily restored to a carefully tended garden.

Birth, life, death, and decay, being essential to third-dimensional life, are like leaves, subject to the transitory nature of the seasons. Soul, however, is that ancient core of wisdom whose roots are deeply buried in the rich soil of Eternal Presence. Like a leaf, you may turn with the slightest breeze, for the human is barely conscious of the light-formed spirit body upon which its physical body is formed. Nevertheless, that part of greater Self - Soul - like the trunk of a healthy tree, is strong and firmly planted.

Many humans live apprehensive, stress-filled lives, for they view themselves as impermanent and insubstantial as leaves. They fail to comprehend the reality that they are Souls having transitory human experiences. Attempting to shield themselves from overwhelming anxiety and fear, they cover themselves with coatings of addictive self indulgences.

A tree is a remarkably effective symbol for visualizing the four seasons of life - childhood, adolescence/young adult, adulthood, and maturity. Even so, it can be argued that the stoutest oak is an impermanent third-dimensional fixture. Soul, being godlike in quality, however, is formed from everlasting substance.

Delightful people, You Are Soul!

It is only your fleeting lives that resemble leaves: beautiful, fragile, and brief. Struggle to unburden yourselves from the parasitic vines of self-serving habits that keep you bound in their grip.

***

Realize that the savior we are waiting for, the next coming of Christ...is you. It is your god-given birth right: no being needs permission from any other to reach into heaven and pull it to earth.

Folks, our lives and societies and the problems or solutions that come from them are but a reflection of our individual selves. Heaven and Hell are created and experienced on earth, it is our choice as to how much of each we wish to manifest.

Hope someone else can find this information useful. Even if you can't, or if you disagree completely, I will not be offended.

Love for all.

The fear of death spawned the idea of a soul, for those of us who cannot accept the possibility of ceasing to exist when we die.

If we can overcome fear of death, we can be happy.

The only way some human animals can achieve this, is by pretending that there is no death... hence the idea of an eternal "soul"

The more humans figure out about the brain, the chemical reactions and neuron transmissions, the more we find out that the brain (which is matter) is what fosters consciousness, and when our brain is damaged, the consciousness is damaged as well. When the brain dies, so does consciousness... as far as we feeble human animals can tell.

Like i say, i am certain of nothing (this could all just be a dream derived from a god for all i fuckin know)... but as Carl Sagan once most inspiringly said,

"Extraordinary claims, requires extraordinary evidence"

Where there is evidence to back up my claims in accordance with the idea of ceasing to exist when we die, there is NONE to back up the idea of an eternal "soul"

I believe neither though, because i accept the fact that... i do not know.
"Doubt is surely not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd."

A pretty piece of literature though, if i might add.

Thank you for your support and humble-criticisms.

Zaehet - I would like to suggest an idea to you. Not out of spite or because I think I am 'right'. You can learn to access your own 'soul', or the part of you that is everlasting. It takes effort on our part, but with patience and a positive attitude, you can slowly transform your 'not knowing' into 'be'ing.

Even so my claims may apparently suggest that I do not believe what you are saying, however, I understand that there is truth in all things and that all things are but half-truths. Such is the paradox of life!

...Hello shaman, erm, mister sister - I like what you're writing here, very mature from what I can see. If you don't mind, I'd like to add something. The soul is feminine and by nature atrophied in males (jmo). We're required to be receptive in order to develop it. At this point in my general understanding, if a man really wants to 'know' the universe, he might have to woo the lady first before projecting is concentrated attention onto (into) her. (pun not so much intended, but perhaps inherent.)

I was looking forward to crafting the near-obligatory pun ... until I saw the last bit there. cn

Ha ha I love it. Very true indeed. Women are more intuitive by nature (at least at this point in history) and men are more logically oriented. A blending of opposites results in ecstatic creation. Think about the symbolism of sex between a male and female. And a child is born from this. 3 is a magic number! This symbolism can be stretched much further, and on to countless levels.

And as far as puns go, it seems that "Creator" indeed has quite a sense of cosmic humor. A fun example is the word "Duat" used in ancient egypt, (loosely) meaning the 'underworld' which was also synonymous with what some call the Subconscious mind, and what occultists would term the "Astral Plane". Duat was variously rendered as Dat, Tat, Duat, or Tuat - but because of the phonetic similarity to the old English term Twat, it is the Duat version that became standard.

As such, it would still be accurate to say "The source of all life is the Tuat (twat)".

There might be a second source ... because the earth-mother was a notorious Astarte. cn

Please don't take my word for it. If it is not your truth, discard at will.

In my eyes however, 'being' is 'knowing in action', keeping in mind that Rome wasn't built in a day.
