Limited space problem

OK, I've been growing in a closet for a few months. Females are now about 2 feet tall and flowering. I've got them on a 13-hour light cycle. Problem is, because I don't have a lot of space, the cuttings I took from them have to share the same closet. The closet is divided, with half the space for hanging clothes and the other half shelves. My mother plants are in the clothes-hanging part, while the clones are on the bottom shelf just a couple feet from the mothers.

One thing I'm wondering is, will the clones be OK with a little more than a half day of light? Basically they are on the same light regime as the mothers. My main concern is that I don't want the babies to start flowering until after I harvest the moms in a month or so.

Here's a possible solution that I came up with. Since plants can't "see" green light, and since it's pretty hard to keep light from leaking out of the clone area and throwing off the timing of the mothers' flowering, I'd like to put a sheet of green plastic between the two groups of plants. That way, any light that reaches the moms during their dark time would be green, basically the same as no light at all. Then I could run the lights on the clones 24 hours and it would not affect the mother plants... at least that's what I'm hoping.

Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.

if you can throw green film to divide it couldn't you, in theory, just put a thick black sheet up the same way to not allow any light to pass through?

I don't think I can seal it tight enough to keep all the light in. That's why I thought I'd try something green.

im kind of a novice to this thing but im lining a cabinet with similar issues because the cracks in the doors for it have enough to let the light in from my room when it needs to be off.. to fix it im lining diamond foil that's reflective on one side and black on the other for the inside. what Im doing for the front that's got the doors is just oversizing it and using it as a curtain almost.. attached it from the roof of the cab where it extended along the sides, then making it a little long so when I close the doors I pull it up and kinda stuff it in. sorry if that's confusing but im not very good at explaining things lol.. Im still waiting on the foil but I tried a test run with a black sheet and it seemed like it would work who knows but either way the green could work im still learning as I go but im in a similar situation and that's how im rolling with it. not the most professional way but I tend to just do whatever works with the least effort in that department as im not that "handy". good luck! if I get the foil up soon ill shoot you a pic show you the madness that's in my head lol

Sounds like a good idea, hope it works! To tell the truth, I'm not sure the grow area has to be as light-tight as a darkroom for developing film. I think you can get away with having some faint light leaking in... but it's probably best not to risk it, if possible.
