Linn County Drug Enforcment after Medical users

Today started as my usual day, sitting in front of my computer working on the elasticity of foreign economics for my ECO 205 class. As began my last paragraph of my 200 word essay I hear a small engine plane flying close to my house. I paid no attention to it and figured it was the guy on the hill who likes to strap a parachute on his back and coast around Sweet Home., so I went back to completing my assignment. About an hour later there was a knock at my front door. I peaked around through the screen door from my office and saw two men standing in my court yard. They were dressed in ratty cloths, scuffed up shoes, faded shirts, worn jeans, unshaven. I went to the screen door and said Can I help you gentleman? and the man said Do you live next door? My reply was No. The man said Who lives here? as he pointed to my front door. I said I do. He said Is this a duplex? I said No. He said This aint a duplex? I said No. and I added Can I help you? He said I am so and so from the police and shows me a badge; I look down at it and said yea? he said Are you are Medical marijuana grower? I said yea. He said can we come in? I said No, not without a warrant. He said why not? I said not without a warrant. He said The reason why I am here is we do not show this address as medical marijuana grow site. I said Bullshit. I then open my wallet and handed him a grow card and patient card with the start date of 10-08, in his joyful observation in seeing the date; he said youre not allow to grow; this card is not valid yet? I crossed my arms and said the state sends out renewal notices 3 months out, do you want to see my other card? So I hand him another card that is valid until 10-08 (the state sent me my card ahead of time so I had two, both over lapping in dates). This was not good enough, he then asks me to produce a registry card with the address on it, so I dug in my files and produced the patient and grow card that have my address. The officer took everything and said hed be right back, I said whatever, I need to do my school work. His partner came back to the door playing good cop well you know, we just got to do this, I said I can understand if it for a valid reason, but you cannot just come in here. The other officer came back with my cards and began harassing me with stipulation of the law, such as the 1 foot by 1 foot mature plant law is a new law. He said it just came out this year. He wouldnt stop and began back on the grow site registry. He said and, I dont see a grow card on your site. I replied well its there. The officer then says it must be posted in plain sight as he pointed to my front door. I said listen, if I post my card there every little punk would be climbing my fence pulling my plants. He replied well thats too bad. I replied a medical marijuana grow site is private because of security reasons, the grow registry card is where it should be, at the grow site. His reply was We did not see the card from plain view; I should be able to look back there and see it. I said no the card is to be located at the grow site, not your sight. He said How are we to know then? I replied that is something between you and the state. I then added if you think I am going to let you back to see my site, I will not. He replied I didnt ask that in a snotty attitude. He then said you know I can go right back there now and take everything you got because I cannot see the grow registry card. I looked at him through my screen and replied, I guess Ill be speaking with my attorney then. Then they left. I called my husband and he was furious, he came home and spoke with the neighbor who is also a grower and who the police also went to next. My husband asked me if they gave a card, and I was in defense mode at the time to ask. So my husband drove down to Sweet Home Police department to find out who these officers were. The Sweet Home police department told my husband they did not know who it was, and that they have one drug enforcement guy, and he was on vacation, but added that he felt it may have been Linn County Drug enforcement. My husband asked is it normal for other agencies to come into your jurisdiction without your knowledge? and the police sergeant shrugs his shoulders and said they do what they want.
