Little balls in Mega Crop

I just got my first bag of Mega Crop, excited to be trying it. I have read that they tried grinding the little balls and it somehow made them more difficult to dissolve. Not sure how that works but...

They do tend to find themselves huddled together in the mix. Is this something I should be worried about? As soon as I got the bag (25lb) I portioned it out into 4lb sealed containers to keep it dry. My plan is to use a vacuum sealer to seal up individual doses for hydro changeouts. I don't think the little balls will be an issue with that but if I do top offs and mix a gallon at a time I'm not sure how that will go as far as the NPK ratios.

Should I grind it myself or am I over thinking it?

Lots of folks have problems keeping it good in a res, I love the 1 part but i mix in buckets an hand water.

Keeping it good, you mean NPK ratios due to the little balls? Or gunking up in hydro?

I see folks getting gunked up,The balls melt fast but if let sitting for awhile it seems to dissipate an chunkies seem to fall out an settle. Even in a 5 gal bucket if not used right up shit starts to settle out.

I mix small amounts at a time and was worried about getting the "right" mix of powder and balls.

Tried various methods and finally purchased an inexpensive coffee bean mill grinder, problem solved.

With the current one part I haven't had any problems dissolving 6-7g/gallon of water but I do hand water in ProMix HP.

Cheers

Thanks, the coffee grinder seems like a good suggestion, even if it's all in my head it will be nice to not need to be concerned about the powder/ball issue. I just did my first rez change, dissolves quickly. Faster than Maxi. At 5 grams per gallon I'm getting around 760 ppm (and my tap water is about 70 ppm) so I'm thinking I could easily add some PK in flower. I have some Koolbloom powder for that since I'm interested in boosting the P a bit more than the K.

I checked and still have a small coffee grinder I haven't used in years. Just processed a quart of Mega Crop in about 3 minutes... problem solved.

Cheers
