Hey guys, this is my first grow. It has been going pretty good so far. However, I noticed that there seems to be an infestation of little white knats on my plants. Any advice for getting rid of them is welcome. Thx.:peace:

Those little white knats are white flies. If you go to a local nursery tell them they are on tomatoes or berrires. Lots of pesticieds will kill them. You can only use a food pesticide.

Have you used this product yourself UserFriendly? I just put some sand on the top layer of my plants but I don't think that is going to cut it long term.

Yeah they eat them. Then they can't grow well and they also can't fight off molds. The sticky traps work well also. I have been using NEEM oil.

Neem oil is a organic chem. I water with it sometimes. 1oz to a gal. It helps prevent mold and bugs from eating my plants. Use the cold pressed oil. I bought mine at a nursery. No bugs or mold so far. The yellow sticky traps work well to control them also. I'm going to start flowering next week so I need to read up on what I can use and not use.

Just to let every one know, i just recently bought Sevin Insecticide and used it once and it got rid of all the white flies and other bugs I was seeing on the plants. I even dilluted it more than the bottle says. So now I have tons of this stuff and it only cost 10 dollars. I am extremely happy with this product. It is safe for flowering vegitables too so I know I wont die when I smoke my beautiful babies. PEACE.

you are plagued by fungus gnats. sand on top of the soil helps prevent future breeding, mosquito dunks are the EXACT SAME THING as gnatrol, but in a solid form. any soap will kill the larvae, and the adults do not pose a threat other than breeding more larvae. the larvae eat the roots, which causes symptoms of overwatering, burn, and deficiency at the same time.

neem oil works too. mosquito dunks are awesome though, and cheaper than gnatrol.

I read the bottle and it says it is safe for flowering vegetables. Plus I asked the nursery owner if it was safe for my "tomatoes". She said it was. Thanks for looking out for me. Plus I used it once and dilluted it about double what the bottle says. I'm nowhere near flowering yet anyways. I think I should be safe.bongsmilie
