My first grow is doing very well, pics will be up soon, 14 plants are now 4 - 5 nodes, all have been topped now and moved into 1 gallon buckets.

Setup

Jardin DR120T
2 T5 4' 8 bulbs
David's Grow - Simply Path for Nutes plus cal\mag+ and root roids
Coco and Rice Hulls
Digital PH Pen makes my life easier for sure
The last transplant will be into 3 gal smartpots, I think I should be able to get 4 plants for sure in the tent 4x4. Hopefully out of 14 4 will be females.

I made my first seed order today from Herbies, I ordered the grab bag of auto's and the grab bag of Fem's as well.

I figure this far along and I have not killed anything yet, must be time to move onto to something worth growing.

Pics to come soon

Some pics of the babies and some pics of me attempting to clone, general pics of the setup.

In the two pics that show the plants in the tent, the light is about 1.5" off the tops of the plants

Good job and nice setup. Whatcha' gonna do if you end up w/say 8 females? Might get a bit crowded in 3g pots.

Best of luck - AIM

That's a fair question, first grow is all bag seeds anyway.

Out of the 13 \ 14 plants going, one this morning appears to have sings of pre-flowering, I will get a pick posted so I can get some feedback, from what I have read and attempted to understand, it is more than likely a male, I say that because it has shown its signs early on in the process. I really do not have a clue though, what I do know is - nute burn on a few plants, last night I flushed them all with just water of course the PH adjusted - run off is 5.7 - 5.8, temps are pretty stable in my setup, 78 - 80.

I also have 6 clones going now, all just attempts to understand that process, live or die I truly do not care, they are cloned off of the Hermie, figured it best to play with things that I truly do not care about, learn and move forward from that point. What I do know is I have had zero luck in rock wool and great luck clipping them and putting them into coco and rice hulls, I have a starter solution I use, also by David's grow, I put them in a humid dome. Seems when I attempt the rock wool they just rote, no signs ever of rooting, I also have root gel, again same process straight into coco \ rice hulls they appear much happier. I guess time will tell though, they could die off as well.

Other updates, I have ordered seeds finally, 3 shipments, 3 different seed banks, now I wait and see what arrives and what does not, depending on that outcome I will know whom to do my ordering from moving forward. None of the orders were big at all - 5 - 10 seeds from each plus whatever freebies they through in. Growing in a 4x4 those should keep me going for awhile. I have the jardin twin, I sprout and grow in the top part which I have separated sitting on a table, the bottom part is were they will go once they grow up and need more space.

Most of what I ordered what auto - fems, no real reason other than plant - grow - smoke, I like that process. Each order of course has come with a variety of free seeds, all fems so they say. I will grow 4 auto's at a time and 2 fems, watch and learn.

Questions for the pro's, all the babies are in 1 gal buckets now, coco and rice hulls, David's Grow simply path the full line plus cal\mag+, at what point and time do I need to move them into larger buckets, which will be 3 gal smart pots. I ask this because I truly can not put 13 plus 3 gal pots in a 4x4 tent. I was hoping they would show there sex soon so I could eliminate those that show me balls. :)

I am not looking to harvest pounds, just enough to keep me happy and eating chips. Hopefully 4 auto's will give me a few ounces of love and joy.

With the research and testing time you're putting in, you're going to be well on your way when you get your production going. Great work.

I am also thinking about stepping up on the lighting side, currently in each tent I have a t5 setup with 8 bulbs, not complaining, things are growing just fine. Being that the larger part of the tent is 4x4 and about 4.5 - 5 foot tall, maybe a 600w HID with a cool tube?

Thoughts

I am using a 400w with a cooltube on 4 plants. my grow dimension is Length 8ft, Width 4ft, height 7ft. Closet grow.
Plants are growing great. I would pick up the 600w if its in your budget, it will be great for flowering.
As far as cooling i use a 200cfm fan to exhaust my cooltube, and it still raises temps in my environment about 5-10 degrees.
Make sure you plan adequate ventilation around the light you upgrade to.

I have two fans to work with, 8" can fan hooked to a speedster i used on can-filter 33, I also have a 6" can fan max. Thus far no heat issues, when I got to the hid, I will turn the fans up higher, hopefully that will control it.
