How do you plan to light and ventilate? Aeroponics is cool, but I've been too worried about power outages, pump failures, and the limited margin for error to ever go that route, but I'd love to. Looks great so far.

I'm gonna try and blow theory out of the water, and yield a great crop with 1200 watts per room; for now and really that's only because that's all the light I have right now. I'll be running 800 watts of HPS, and 400 MH.
If it doesn't pan out I'll move to 2400 per room.
Ventilation, is still an issue. I haven't got it worked out yet, but am scheming...believe that.. =)

well, yes. I've adapted my space to fit these custom grow chambers. There are 50 sites, however only 45 will be utilized. The remaining 5 will act as access ports above the drain to clean out roots, or debris.
The pump will be run on a timer. Minimum 1 on/5 off, most likely though the cycle will be more like 1 on/10-15off.

People, take notes, this man means business!!! :D

That's some sick engineering right there. Good luck, can't wait to see how it goes.

Well.... "Gutter Symphony" has now successfully been running non-stop for five hours, here's our temps without any room ventilation or tank insulation...

ROOM: 79.2

Nutrient Tanks: 72.1

Dude. That's badass. It's cool to see your pipes & drip lines looking just like mine. Great minds... something something something...:leaf:

My DIY is much happier these days. I finally ditched my super-budget float level switch idea & ponied up for a nice repeat cycle timer. I'm still pissed that they cost $85 retail though.... I returned some unused crap to Homo Depot & used the $ for my timer... and my piece of mind.

Alright. Things are rockin! I am still in the first trial run of using this unit, but you can't believe the root explosion that is going on right now. I've had plants in this system for four days, and the roots are lovin it. I'll get some root shots up here soon. Any questions?

The timers are a must. I'm working on building a containment box for my pump, as it shutting on and off makes alot more noise than I'd like. I'll get some pics up soon.

So... I pulled a couple of plants the other day to transplant into the aero unit. I had to end up trimming back the roots, as there were tangled into the cocoa medium I was using. But, it looks like they've taken to the transplant well. We'll get updated here shortly!

Yeah, well I just ran a small tester crop thru to ensure the addition will be worth it. I actually didn't even fill my finished unit up. It's about 2/3rds fun but still lots of cups still available. I'll be adding the other side of this unit after I take these down in a couple of weeks. Can't wait to get the weight tally!
