Looking for a good "Growing MENTOR"

WHat's up everyone, I am BeKindBud and I am a complete newbee at growing. I am only growing for the simple fact that I just learned my mother has cancer and I read alot about how marijuana helps with it. So I want to help my mom out by growing her some good marijuana that will help her through these tough times. I am looking for someone who will help me and take some time out to guide me along my first grow. Also I would want someone who has good knowledge and a lot of expierence in growing to be my mentor. I already started learning on my own, reading books, articles, internet researching, watching videos and have learned a lot but growing but i dont have the experience of growing. Anyway i hope someone can help me out and be a good mentor in growing for me so I give my mom some bomb ass stuff to help her out. If you are interested please reply to my post. I'll help you out...I cant belive no one has offered yet specially for the reason your growing..anything you need bro just ask...and honestly the best thing you can do to start and get help from more than one person is start a thread in the growing section. There you can not only keep track of exactly what you do when you do it, but alot of ppl can point things out and you'll get a different perspective on things as well...tho you may get some hater comments, but fuck them your oing this for someone you love and care about and that right there is what growing marijuana should be about not the money and black market profits...

I'm in 100% and I also have a few plants started myself a little older thn yours but you'll be able to grow along side with mine and have somthing to compare yours with..

I greatly appreciate your responses back to my thread.....I feel so much more better now that someone is out there to help me. Thank and mad respect from me to you both....Now here are some of the problems that I am having...#1 my temp and humidity, today its averaged about 80-88 Degrees F and 48% Humidity. Now i am in Southern California and we been going through this crazy hot weather. I know that ventilation (supply and exhaust) is needed. But i have no skills or any knowledge of what to do or rig ventilation. ALso my pH was a little over 7.5 and little yellow spot were showing from the middle of the leaves. I looked it up and read about it needing more acid so I got some pH down and brought my pH to 6.5-7. I notice when the light is on the pH is higher and when the light is off the pH is lower. Oh here is my closet set-up: 3'x3'x8'.....400 watt mh/hps light w/digital ballast....2 fans using SuperSoil w/perlite,vermiculite and worm castings.....I am growing a unknown seed that my friend gave me....It just one plant, I also germinated a Dinafem Road Runner seed. I have a couple of quality female seeds but I want to see if I can grow successfully first before I grow the real good seeds I have. Also here are pics of my baby...her name is "MamaDude" Thats actually my mom's nickname. So here are some pics of "MamaDude" She has a retarded leaf, but I am really connected to my plant...I know it sound wierd but I am really loving this plants. I never grew a thing in my life and I will say that seeing my plant grow from a seed to what she is now I am very proud and feel I have done a decent job. Well I would appreciate both good and bad feedback, I am all ears........

Firstly i would like to commend you on the reason for you growing our beloved herb.

Ok first pointer i will give you is that if your light is not air cooled you need to raise it up to around 10-15inches above the top of your plant which should help some of your heat problems.

The second point i will give you is that in your space 3x3x8 that your 400w not aircooled will generate some heat.

I do not know your budget for your full setup so therefore i will help you with a possible setup if you could be so kind as to tell us your budget so that we are aware how much you are able to spend to get this right for your mom.

!st off sorry to hear about your mother. I'm still wet behind the ears myself but will try and help when I can. Just make sure you give as much info as you can when asking questions. That will get you the best possible answer. Good luck to you and your mother.

Jondamon, I can spend about another $200-300 right now, the one thing I am really worried about is my apartment is small its a 1 bedroom and my electric bill. But right now I cant put a price on my mom's health. I am completely dumb when it comes to electricty and rigging ventilation. My light is a 400 watt mh/hps cool tube reflective hood w/digital ballast. I know and want to set up ventilation but i dont where or how to start. Is there any place i can buy some sort of a ventilation system for about 200??? Also I have another question, my pH has been over a 7 around 7.5, I watered MamaDude yesterday with water that was at 6pH. I checked my soil this afternoon and the needle was barely on the 7, leaning past 7. My plant does have some yellow spots on her, I have not giving any nuetrients yet, 3 days ago my pH was almost 8. I have Fox FarmGrow Big. I was planing on starting nuets after 21 days, My next watering I was going to introduce about 50% of recommended dosage. Now should I give her nuets at day 21 or should I wait till day 30? Also is 50% good or should I start 100% recommened dose? I appreciate you all helping me, means alot when I have newly acquired friends on here helping me and my mom!!!! Made RESPECT for you all helping me!!!! VICTORYGARDEN i am in San Dog!!! since your limited on space an obvstuff like smell/ppl looking thru your window etc is gna be a problem have you looked into a grow tent? might be a good solution for you being able to keep everything contained in one area and minimise smell etc, also would prob be a fairly cheap way to go if you grab one 2nd hand off ebay/craigslist.

also for cooling/circulation i noticed a thread on here the other day where people have modified these to use instead of costly "growing" fans only £40, or if you have a bit more money to spend you may want to look at this which does both cooling and circulation http://www.advancednutrients.com/hydroponics/products/ice_flow/ice_flow_product_information.php.

yes please PM me, I would appreciate it, I never thought of a grow tent, are they easy to maintain? I am going to look on ebay. Yes please PM me any info you can that will help. My leaves are starting to curl inwards, I am thinking it might be heat stress??? I have pics that I will show you. Also I was using CFLs for the first two weeks and this last week I been using the 400watt light. Should I change my watering? SHould I keep using the CFLs cuase of the heat generated from the 400 watt? I gues what I am saying until I get a grow tent or any ventilation should I go back to using the CFLs or will it mess my plant up? Thanks.

^Hey man, check out the link in my signature. If you're interested, I can give you the same exact results, or very close. I don't claim them to be the best, I only claim that they are healthy.You'd do even better, if you go bigger with the lighting.


Also, may I suggest that since you are seeking a "mentor", so to speak, that you choose only one guy/girl, then simulate their own setup, as closely as possible. It would even be more helpful, if you had the same strains. That pretty much gives you the best chances of success. If you mix-and-match, taking advice from a bunch of people, then throwing them all together, that you're risking running into trouble. Sticking with one mentor, minimizes that risk. Then, as you gain experience, you can deviate, tweaking things more to your own preferences.

Bro I would love to listen and have you help me get results...I will do whatever it takes to get my stuff setup like that...the problem I have is space...I am limited on space. Bro I will listen to you and you only if you are willing to help me and guide me through the process...I am ready and let me know if you want to help me....Thanks and I really enjoyed reading your journal and your pics r great. I planted this seed 3 weeks ago exactly today....Its not looking good cause the leaves are curling in, I took this picture prior to watering her with the 1st ever dose of FoxFarms GrowBig. I only put 50% of recommended dosage. I want to see if the leaves will start looking better...I dont know if I am doing a bad job or not but please help me, she is not looking to good and I dont want to screw this up....Thanks.
