looking for a growing teacher

I'm wondering if this is even a good idea. I'd like to find a grow partner or someone who can help me along the way to getting more success.

I know what you're saying, everything you need to know you can probably find on this forum, which is true, this forum is a wealth of information, yet I still feel as if I can benefit from someone being able to stand by my side and say hey, you should do this or this, etc.

This story has probably been heard a million times, but I spent a fair amount of money on the setup and I'm still running into trouble. I got through a single plant and a single harvest but for some reason, I feel as if the plant that made it had some kind of super strength and was forgiving of my screw ups. Also, it was about 4 weeks into it when I got it. Past the hard part.

I'm trying to do hydro. I never even tried soil. I'm to the point where I'm wondering if I should give soil a try although it would feel like a huge waste to turn back now.

Any advice? I understand the risks of trying to find a grow mentor so maybe this is a dead thread anyway, but I just don't want to continue to waste money on nutrients and equipment when I know the real problem is I'm just "not doing it right". The first grow went well and I was all gung ho about my second round, but discouragement is setting in...

Thanks

Nobody can be there to stand by your side unless they're in your area, and you didn't list your area.

I've designed and set up a few grows for people who wanted it all done for them and I'll be doing even more of that in the future for medical users in this area but for all I know you're on the other side of the world.
