Looking for help w/ perpetual grow using "Grow Tents"

I think you need more posts to pm. I would skip the mh and use t8s for clones and 6-8 bulb t5 for veg.< 6 bulb should be enough. mh lights make a lot of heat and a 6-8 bulb t5 will have better coverage then the mh. The cheapest place to get a t8 fixture I have found is walmart like 10-15$ and you buy the bulbs separately there 10$ Get 6500k bulbs.

I think ur right about the p.m issue with few posts.. Anyhow T8s are the common shop lights? I could use maybe 1-2 2ft doublebulb fixes for clones then ill def do the 6-8bulb t5 for veg depending on my area and what it permits..what about a 200w led? Of good brand? Suppose to be around 600-1000w equiv but less coverage obviously..?

well to keep a perp going for a harvest every 2 weeks you need to be putting plants in flower every 2 weeks once a complete harvest is done then you will have every 2 weeks a harvest so having 4 plants in clone 4 plants in veg and 4 in flower is not going to cut it for a perp

Heres another option.....in a 2x2 tent, run an aircooled 250w HPS, 12/12 from seed. About 30 days before harvest, start a new crop ( from seed ) under CFL's.....you can get 6 1 gallon pots in that 2x2, harvesting about 3 oz or better....after you get rolling, you can harvest 3 oz or better every 50 days or so......

I will def check his thread out. For what your talking about id need only 1 tent? And jus two seperate lights? Doesnt seem like id be getting the most outta my space.. :/

He will be putting 1 plant in flower every 2 weeks which for 12 plants total means he would have a ton of time for cloning and vegging... < I have been growing for 11 years 5 of those doing some sort of perpetual or another I know what I'm talking about. And dirtyglove I have never used leds so I can not comment on how well they will work.

I use 2 tents that are the same size...4x2x5...one for flower with a 400w CMH...and one for veg with a 400w MH. Ummm...I started with one strain and I would clone that plant and flower the mom and keep the clone, and that worked for a few years, but then I wanted to try some other strains...now I have other strains, but am growing out of room in the veg tent...I also have a lot of other plants in there that are making things hard...anyway...I want to start keeping the original plants as donor plants and just take a few clones off of each plant and as soon as those clones have roots switch them to flower...I figure I can flower 3 large plants, or 6 small, or maybe even 9 super small? Who knows...but we are going to find out...I will get to start my run of clones very very soon...I am excited...I am also going to try something new for me...I am going to try out Coco with my tiny flowering clones idea...I feel like this will be more perpetual especially if I move a plant over every week...so every monday I move a plant...and as I reach the point of running out of flower room one plant should be done...and so it will be removed and harvested and then the next week take one out, put one in...I don't know if this would work...but I am going to try it...it is going to be slowgoing at first though...that is what autos are for though...

Anyway here is my thought process and experience on growing perpetually with tents...

I run into issue because I have too many vegging plants for the space I have and some never get to get moved over...and I eventually have to just cut them down and it makes my heart sad...hopefully that will stop if I can get my tiny progression going...

You just add and collect things as you go really...it is an adventure...

man this has been a great thread for me, thanks to every one for their contributions...gave me some good ideas..
also, my mothers LOVE my 90w led rated at 390w.... only prob is i have to rotate them as the footprint of LEDs isnt as broad as that of MH/HPS and the usual hoods..
my electric bill BARELY changed using two of them for 4 mothers that are over 3 1/2 ft tall.. i can hang em like 6 inches away and no probs.. I have the round LED btw...built in fans and all...

thanks NN, yeah i just measured my space now..i also have some pics which i will upload..not too worried about showing too much "personal" items in my room cuz im legal and all. but as far as the equpment is concerned its pretty ballpark right now.. till i figure the exact tents i will be using/process or cycle..

NN i like ur idea for the perpetual cycle! i think thats what i will be going with..

now i have 2 space options.. first is

4ft wide x 7ft long x 5ft high




2nd is 4ft wide x 8ft long x 10ft high



i have two windows in my room as well.

now what do u guys think? which area and what size tents to put in?

I would put 2 4x4 tents in the bigger space and have 1 for veg/clones and 1 for flower.

For your window put up blinds then take black and white poly and seal that around your blinds and window and depending on how hot it gets you may need to put an ac unit in the window at a later time.

I do not have a budget. But dont want to overspend. Quaility and safety priority number one.

do a pick n mix order from a trusted seed bank, 8 seeds 4 strains all feminized.

2x 4x4 tents, 2x 600w HID
(If you have the cash the more seeds of each strain you want to grow the better, but you have to be ok with getting rid of the ones you dont need.)
start all 8 seeds, let them grow for around 4-6 weeks, pick 4 mother plants and put the rest into flower...start cutting clones and get a solid setup for doing it. every 2 weeks cut 2x the amount of clones you will need (you will need 4 so cut going to have to ditch 1 clone but this helps ensure you get your min requirments every 2 weeks.

cut clones every 2 weeks, keep em rolling through the tents and you will be able to harvest 4-10 Oz every 2 weeks easily.

The simplest way to me seems like it would be to start plants in the small tent and then when ready to flower move them to the big flower tent. As soon as you do that get your next ones ready. Let them veg in the small tent while your others flower. As soon as they are done move the others in and start over. It's the same principle as replacing one every 2 weeks except you harvest all at once and replenish.

for flowering or veg? and when u say room u mean one 4x4x6.5 grow tent?

id really love to go LED if i can should i go ask in LED section which light watt will cover these 4x4x6.5 tents? also what u think of that 600w digy?
