Looking for help

Hi Guys

Hoping that you can help me try to figure something out. Each time I hand out meds to a patient, I always ask them to let me know how it affects them, good or bad, I would like to know. ( Being new to growing, I want to learn so very much). Recently I had a Chernobyl strain that I cut and cured and then gave to a "seasoned patient". The following is his response to the Chernobyl that I grew ....

"The verdict is in. I do like the Chernobyl a lot. It is a really good high. I am actually very impressed. The buds do not appear to be very developed... So it leaves me wondering how much more killer weed it could be. Dried perfectly. It is really good though. Pleasantly surprised .... I would smoke this anytime and be very happy."

I grow under a 400 watt unit in flower, and as soon as I can, want to increase that to a 600. Soil is Roots "Greenfield", and for nutes in Flowering, basic AN line, plus SensiZym and Liquid CarboLoad.

Can someone try to help me develop the buds to their full potential? Thanks in advance for the help !!

I assume you are referring to bud size more than anything else. If the plant is generally healthy otherwise, then I would say it's a matter of light intensity and should improve when you upgrade. Do you look at the trichs prior to harvest? That's what I go by. If you have smallish buds and nearly all trichs are clear, then you might not be flowering long enough.

Sounds like you knocked it out of the park!

Looking at images of Chernobyl, it is in IMHO what would be referred to as "airy" buds. they have a "loose" bud structure typical of sativa dom.

Thanks Tet as always for the help I have been visually using a 30X and harvest at 60 to 70 percent cloudy trichs. I also go over about 10 to 14 days (depending on other factors of course) on the Flowering time. I am leaning towards the light .... but did not know if a nute was in order. I am not too keen on something called Cotton Candy nor Big Bud etc .... but if so, I will add to my nute line up.

Thanks Slab I do agree that this is the first time strain that I have seen such "airy buds" (Unlike white widow or northern lights) which I have grown in the past.

I'm no real help to this yankee ( my buds arent very dense start to finish under t5's) .... last time with them though , but anyways... Just curious why you don't go straight to the 600 watts flowering? sounds like your patient is happy tho!

MY..the chernobyl I finished is pretty dense compared to others. The yield sucked but it is some it the frostiest bud I have ever seen... Ill post a pic later tonight

Thanks Dubba and Yes, the patient is a very happy camper The reason why I did not go directly to a 600 watt unit, is that I purchased some slightly used equipment when I first started growing in October '11, and lo and behold was a perfect 400 watt unit Upgrade coming soon if I continue to be a "Good Lad for Santa Claus !!"

lost my battery for the camera...no pictures tonight. Just trust its really good. I would suggest giving it another run

Hey Bro

This was the yield from (2) Chernobyl plants. ( Total for the (2) was 67g ~ after dried and trimmed ). I do have to say, it was some of the frostiest that I have seen. But to be very honest .... all the strains that you gifted to me .... were all triched up like I had never seen in the 2 previous grows that I have done! I still am taking clones off the Vortex, Chernobyl, and Plush Berry. The only one that did not make it was the PineApple Express .... although my lady patient said it was the damn best med she has ever had. As long as my 2 patients are happy ... I am happy. I too am a patient as you know, and love everything that you have done for me and the Mrs. You are a Godsend Bud and I can never, ever repay you for all that you have done.... and I am quite sure it is not only I that you have helped out

Looks like I may be placing my 1st order for seed ..... Attitude Seed Bank ~ TGA Gear .... I kind of like (what I have read about) AOS and Jilly Bean.... any comments or opinions ?

I haven't tried any TGA gear, sorry. But by all means, if you are going to order from Attitude wait a little bit. They always have an awesome Christmas promotion. Actually they have a promotion every few months, but if memory serves the Christmas one last year was great.

Uggnnnnn... and I am trying not to throw money out the window right now! I have never bought through the net and have been wanting to give attitude a try... but hot damn...Im like a kid and a candy store on that site filling up my wish list... so hard to concentrate! There are a couple TGA strains I would love to try, QLEANER, QUERKLE, and Qrazy train or Plushberry.... I see they have Nirvana seed's Ice there as well.... what is a guy to do? Hahaha sorry for the rant but the ladies have me going this morning

Without even clicking on the bud shots I would assume your patient may just be one of those people who likes to critique while not even knowing what the hell is right from left ..

I mean no offense to you or them but all often people speak bullshit to make themselves feel good lol and you would be best to have more than one judge at the table ..

I often make calls about strains I dont like , but I always make sure to share with many to see how it fairs in a circle of Judges

Yeah. And it is stinky. The yield wasn't bad on my plant. I think I got about 5 zips off it. Yield was about a zip less than most of the other plants in the garden. It was tall and lanky, and didn't have big colas, but there were a lot of them.

I have a clone that I need to harvest.




I had this plant tested last time I grew it. All of my patients rate it as strong, so the numbers have me scratching my head a little.
