Looking for the best =)

Hello I am new to the community and I am currently looking to start a grow set up. I am really interested in a soil grown set up.

I currently have a range of cfl lights ranging from 15w to 30w with 8 light fixtures. I have at least 20 bulbs all diff watts and 2700k and 5000ks. I am stuck at this point not really sure on where to start my setup I currently have 6 seedlings in fox farm ocen forest soil and they're growing awesome under a blue spectrum shoplight to get them started. All about 6inches and tiny leaves. Going on about a week. Just trying with some bomb mids first to see how it goes.

I also have a mini sunburst 150w hps light that I plan on using for flowering.

I really would like suggestions on a soil plan. I have fox farm ocean forest soil, I just need the nutrients. Any suggestions I've heard to use big bloom and tiger bloom from multiple people and to use a flowering nute towards the end. Also what size pots should I transplant too?

I'm really just making this because I can't decide on a setup and I need some help. Everyone keeps telling me different stuff and my knowledge is imminent when it comes to the internet so I decided to come to the best =).

I plan on setting the flowering room up in a separate bedroom and seal it off with a tarp that's painted a white or silver to keep in the light. What would be good dimensions since I'm using the hps? What do you suggest for a setup during flowering? Should I use the hps and cfls? I'm just looking to get this going good the first time since my financial situation is crappy and don't have a lot to spend. Any help would be much appreciated.

P.s I know cfls aren't too good to grow with but for 50 for all the bulbs fixtures and the 150 I couldn't go wrong. Buddy messed up his grow and I'm taking over =0 talk about a good deal.

This sounds like a cool little grow :) your soil situation is good, but I would use some seedling mix like light warrior next time so you dont have to worry about them burning.
Your lights are honestly less than optimal but will work fine for a personal grow.but you're right, how could you go wrong for $50?! CFLs or fluorescent tubes are good for vegging, and that 150w will do okay for a few plants assuming a couple pop up male. At some point I'd recommend upgrading to a 250 or 400w metal halide for veg and a 400w hps for flower in a 4x4 or 5x5 space. hell you could run a vented 600w and be fine... With your current flowering bulb you could make the room about 3'x3' and be good, a little bigger if your plants need the space.
Happy growing man!

Thanks I appreciate the reply. Do you have any suggestions on nutrients by chance? I plan on keeping the setup I have currently just a couple plants under flowering though. =) feel it has a good tiny potential for just a personal smoke.

I don't plan on flowering 6 plants I only actually want 3 which I have read the 150 is suitible for. Plus I always can throw some of the cfls in there.

Figure 1 square yard space for each plant unless you want to do a SOG thing. In which case you would have to upgrade lights. CFLs do great in veg and there are people here who do complete and impressive grows with them.

Holyshit?!? you started seeds in Fox Farm Ocean Forest?!? Must not have had very many nutrients ready to go, because after I let my bag sit for a week open it killed all my seeds. Well one sprouted but then it died shortly after cause it got burnt. I know its all organic, but its got a lot of nutrients in it, which is why I am amazed you somehow got your seeds to sprout. That is why the company makes Fox Farm Light Warrior which is for seedlings and clones...

Also tiger bloom is a flowering nutrient. Right now I use the whole fox farm line, but I never saw any results until I bought a fucking ph meter and realized my PH was at about 5.5 which at that low NO nutrients from fox farm can be sucked into the plant efficiently. MAKE SURE YOU PH IS AROUND 6.3 to 6.8!!!

IMG_1801.jpgi've got 5 purple kush auto's in FFOF right now. should i be worried? i'm just watering with tap water that i let sit over night. wasnt planning on using nutes for first 3-4 weeks, from what i've read.

Yeah fox farms have good bottled nutes. And you don't need 1000w to grow a few plants. You will grow some big fantastic plants under that light but you can use what you have... just don't expect much in weight haha. I've been using 600w hps for a while and I like them. They have the best lumen per watt ratio of any other common wattage if I remember correctly.
