Went away for a vacation topped everything up checked timer setting etcetc, showed a family member how to top up water but didn't show them how to make sure water pump ran its course 3 times a day. They phoned on weekend saying plants aren't looking to well and that with outside air at 28c the inside of my room was hot, walked them thru cooling room but they texted back Tuesday that still not looking good I got home today to find water pump had frozen/stuck and wasn't pumping water. After a few choice words to myself for not thinking of it It looks like back to square one for this season. :cuss::dunce::sad:

Yes their dead I think :(. Your roots are probably gone as well. If by a miracle they were to make it (call the Catholic Church if they do) the recovery time would be longer than a restart IMO.

Yeah man sometimes the best setup is the most simple one. If you ever find yourself leaving, you should have a countermeasure setup for a issue like this one. I know its difficult to troubleshoot a issue over the phone, but next time have mixed solution in a tub thats being aerated and have your helper just top feed the plants.
