Loose Rockwool.

My question regarding loose (granulated, floc) Rockwool is the preparation of the Rockwool prior to filling a pot with it. It comes compacted in a huge bag and I was wondering how big the clumps should be that I tear apart. Certainly thick enough to not fall through the holes in the bottom of the pot but how large? Would chunks be ideal or smaller golfball sized pieces work better? Also, do I need to squeeze it into the pot of simply leave it fluffed up in there by just tossing it in?

I personally never have known anyone who used the little chuncks of rockwool on cubes like I personally use then you put the cube with plant in it into the net pot then cover with Hydroton clay pebbles. The rockwool chunks will stay to wet to just use them alone Id think for sure.Maybe not I just never have seen anyone use the bag of chunks

i have seen some using that stuff in mesh baskets of hydros and thats about all use i can imagine for that stuff too.

so, if you use them, pack them lightly in or it will be to loose.
