Man , looking back at Los Angeles's Cannabis Cup this past weekend was a total let down. I mean I had a good time and all but thats because my friends and I have a good time wherever we go. The venue was super small. A total of roughly 20 vendors, there was Only 3 vendors donating sub-par cannabis. 2 donating waxes (questionable at best) . I didn't get a VIP pass and i'm glad I didn't . There wasn't anything VIP about this experience, probably won't be attending this event next year..

LMAO ! Well, that's Los Angeles for you. Of course it was cheap to go and visit a "Cannabis Cup in the USA", but come on man, the real shit is never going to be in America. Amsterdam for the win bro. I'm surprised the DEA didn't ransack the tiny place.
But props for telling us that the place sucked. Glad you and your buddies had a good time anyway.

Man, It was just a total let down. I drove 2 hours for that shit. Never again ! I had to wait in line for over an hour just to get in. Later in the day the line died down and it was easier to get in . But the initial entry at 1pm saturday was brutal.

The DEA must of known it was going to be a shitty show, must of gotten tipped off :) . Big let down. ! The dime Bag tent was cool, also a great booth on how to make wax. Steep hill and Red Man tent was cool. That was about it. They had the right idea but it was just lame !!!

Was this the inaugural event? That could explain why it was so bad. Hopefully they get their act together next year.

Free testing sounds pretty bad ass.

I enjoyed the 2 day LA cup very much. It's no Amsterdam cup of course but given the current LA MMJ climate and it being it's first year I think it was great.

Day 1 was with the lady
We took the metro there. The initial wait in line was lame but somewhat expected given the amount of people/the choice of only 2 security screening stations.

After we got in it was fun medicating with some new friends and checking out the seminars. Walking around the patient area I wish there were more collectives offering their bud/products (a few did/may have). After the show we got crunk/had fun in downtown LA and took the metro home.

Day 2 was with my irie friend
I saw the level of medicating on day 1 and decide to bring the water pipe/borosilicate. While medicating on the grass with other patients we were gifted some sour D from some very cool norcal guys. We shared some of our buds in kind and it was good times. Mmmm...taking tokes as the irie security was talking to LAPD about some apparent parking lot ish.

The grow seminars were better on day 2 and nico's seminar on digital lighting. His energy was pretty awesome :)

SF should be much better and LA will be much better in years to come.

Of course it was lame..The best you might get,if they have it 1-2months after harvest,up North where most of the growers are.But LA,nope, just not many pro growers down here. And if they are they keep a low profile. Also no seed co. either. The thing with Amsterdam, and other cups,is the seed co..They got something to win if they win a cup($ selling seeds).Nothing to win in LA,since theirs not seed co. selling seeds.

actually rare dankness was there, and some "socal seeds", but I was really hoping to see the big names come to LA though.

Dan i'll take your word for it. I've never heard of them until the show so I was skeptical to purchase any from them !

e32 trainwreck is the best pure wreck around. I've been doing arcata trainwreck for about 4 years now. Arcata wreck is e32 x Oriental Express. Oriental express is the thai x trainwreck they used to make Casey Jones. Casey Jones = Oriental Express x sour diesel. Billygoat gave me a pack of Oriental express to mess around with, but I haven't cracked that pack yet.

I've seen the superwreck once on sale at San Jose Patients group. It looked fucking amazing. Possibly the most frosty bud I've ever seen. I've got a pack of that too but I haven't cracked it yet.

But I can personally vouch for e32 wreck, arcata wreck, and superwreck. All elite top shelf strains. The arcata wreck is the most potent strain I've ever grown.

Billy also has crossed his oriental express with blue dream and real headband (not the bullshit Oakland 707 headband). Those seem like winners to me.

I like the fact that they fuck with so many old school thais. So many Cali strains are kush, haze, and chem based. It's refreshing to see someone who takes a whole other approach basing their strains off of thais and wreck.

Billygoat is a part of socal seeds. It's not a different company. They all run it together.
