Low PH in my soil

so I started seeing a yellowing in my plants so I checked the soil PH and it was at like 5.2? I have no idea how it got so low. Does anyone have recommendations on how to bring to soil up .... So I also decided to check a bag of soil and its sitting in the bag at 4.8!!!!! Is this normal? How do I go about raising the soil without fully flushing the soil?

Most bagged soils come prebuffered so you don't really need to worry about it. what did you do and use to check the ph?

I used a soil ph pen it has a probe to put In the soil and tells you were the soil sits. It was botanicare ready grow coco aeration mix normally a good soil for me I use canna and feed at 6.3 and after I noticed the yellowing I checked the soil and it was way low like 5.2 or so normally sits at 6.0 to 6.2 and I've seen this same thing before and causes the leafs to turn yellow and rusty spots form then they fall off

Also coco is not soil. Yellowing could be from a number of things, if you posted some pics someone could probably take a look and give some advice

If its coco then its not soil. sounds like a salt build up and a lock out issue. Do you have pics? All we can do is guess until we see pics.

So what is the point of the pen? Why when I see the ph dip low I start having issues and when it sits right my plants are happy? I'll post some pictures for further information to help me

For all of you saying the the ph in the coco doesn't matter your so wrong I rinsed all the pots with high ph water using Olympus up since its lime stone based and rinsed it tell it sat at 6.0 now all my plants are looking great

People said PHing soil was not needed. The title of your thread is low ph in soil, but your growing in coco. The info given to you was correct, info given by you was wrong.
