Low sound fans 4 inch with carbon filter HELP PLEASE!

Hey guys so i will be building 3 square foot grow box out of OSB wood half inch around 5 or 6 foot tall. Now i will be growing one plant in scrog method with a 400 watt HPS/MH and a 200 cfm fan and a 4 inch phresh filter. I just wanted peoples suggestion on the fan for quiet application and i have been searching and found a efficient and quiet TD one with 200 cfm for like 160$ it doesnt matter on price i have a job and willing to make the initial sacrifice.

The filter is a PHRESH 200 cfm 4 inch for like 70$ , my only issue as it matters now is the sound because the smell will be completely eliminated for one plant with a 200cfm carbon filter.

4"RvK's or RUCKs are pretty quiet, anyway.
You could buy a speed controller to help eliminate any vibration noise
You could buy one of the inline fans that have built in speed controllers.

Box fans are quietest - they're built into an acoustic box,
but they're for the bigger fans that can make quite some noise.

You'll need 4" aluminium ducting.
To really bring down the dB's buy the acoustic ducting with padding.

But, like I said, a 4" inline isn't going to be very loud.

that fan will be very quiet, if money isn't an issue. if so, consider a duct booster, much cheaper. work just fine. I have a 6'' filter/booster for a dry room. once I attach a decent length of duct, I can hardly hear it. depends on your application of course.

Can someone suggest a 4 inch inline with speed controller that wont burn my house down, i will be sleeping in the same room so i really dont want anyone to hear it including myself lol, cheers all.

I have a 6 inch rvk with insulated ducting and a fan speed controller, there is still a little noise but you get used to it and considering the job it does with odour and temps it's worthwhile.
I'll put it another way, it might wake me in the morning when I've a good nights sleep got but it wouldn't stop me going to sleep when I'm tired.

And a 4" is lots more quiet than a 6".

not going to get much quieter than whats posted. try a duct muffler if you need it that quiet.

What ever you do, don't buy a TT fan

ive got one running next to my bedroom and it wakes me up on a morning

That's true and you also get what you pay for so it's worth spending the extra few bob.
That's the fan I wanted to buy last year but I couldn't find a seller who wasn't asking for a fortune to send to Ireland.
In some cases they wanted as much as the price of the fan.

Try buying from outside the EU.
Postage costs a fortune,
plus import tax,
PLUS value added tax.

A $200 ballasts ends up costing $600.

I was thinking of going down the LED route last year , the light I wanted was approx 500 euro but with the VAT, import tax and shipping it would have been close to the grand.

If you want quiet then oversize a good centrifugal and slow it way down.

Note 4" is least effective as it's mostly motor with little impeller. Use a 6" centrifugal style at reduced speed would be my rec.

I use a 6"RUCK with a light dimmer switch (as a fan speed controller)
and, what Snaps says, is spot on.
When it's turned down you can barely hear it.

I also use one on an 8"RvK.
As you turn up the fan speed it starts to sound like an aeroplane building up revs, on the runway.
You do not realise how loud they are until you start using fan speed control.
