Lower buds turning purple

I have started to harvest a couple of earlyish buds of my white widow. I'm eight and one half weeks into what was an anticipated window of 8-10 weeks. The plant has been under 8/16 for the last week and a half. The top buds look have appeared to change, albeit slowly, as expected. The bottom of what I took had purple bud and green leaves. All of the lower buds are purple. At the same time as I reduced the light, I reduced flora nova bloom to 700-800 (now 800). An explanation and, if appropriate, any recommended action would be appreciated.
