Lowlife White Russian Auto Flowering

Hi All,

I have 3 Lowlife White Russian Auto Flowering ladies on the go, the website states 10 weeks from seed to chop using 20/4 or 18/6 lighting.

Problem is I had to let my last grow continue for a few more weeks of 12/12 than expected which resulted in not placing the White Russians under my 400w HPS on a 18/6 cycle until they were 3 weeks old.

They have been under 3 x 20w Soft White light bulbs for the first 3 weeks on an 18/6 schedule & have not really grown that well (Which I know is to be expected from house light bulbs), but since being under my 400w hps (1 week) they have come on a great.

Will I now get a greatly reduced yield as I have lost 3 of the 10 weeks of growth/development under the Soft White bulbs as opposed to my 400w HPS or do they only start to auto flower when they get to a certain stage of growth?

The first 3 weeks are supposed to be growth, then 7 weeks of flowering.

I have seen pics of other lowlifes at 4 weeks old and they are double the size of mine, it would not normally be a problem with non auto flowering plants as you decide when to put them into flower & can veg them for as long as you like, but I am afraid that these may die as they are too small to flower.

I hope this makes sense?

Tks

Thanks Fyfe,

No pics as yet, will take a few when lights come on a little later.

They look perfectly healthy, just a little small to start auto flowering...

Will do mate, what strength nutes did you use & when did you start using them?

When I say "What strength", I mean 1/4 or 1/2 of recommended dose etc

Cheers

Great Thread Fyfe,

Loving the start with the cars etc :~)

Also the part about getting stoned and messing with your growroom.

Thats my favourite part :~)

haha! i forgot about all that, yeh my journal's abit of a comedy trap to begin with. the last load of pics i put up are the best ones i have so far.

with nutes i used, hydro nutes (shouldnt have really but i got them free and there expensive) i used 1/4 the recommended dose of canna flores a & flores b

i started nutrients at 4 weeks. the soil i used had nutes in already fore the first 4 weeks, not had any nute burn so far so all good.

Tks Fyfe,

The leaves are pretty large, your eyes do not deceive you :~)

I was quite surprised at the size of them.

You mentioned stretching, the lights are about 15" above the plants at present, the temp shows 82 Degs directly under the lights (See pic 2), but I am considering lowering them to around 8".

What do you think?

lights seem plenty close for now.

when i mentioned stretching i may not have made my statement very clear.

i meant that there initial growth spurt looked stretched, from the soil up to the first node. just making convo really nothing to worry about. it was because you had bulbs on them before your hps right?

do you know the hand trick? stick your hand just on the tops of your plants and lower your light slowly until it feels uncomfortable. then back it off a few inched and thats a suitable height.

but where it is looks good enough :)

Oh, I see, Sorry.

Too many of those :~)

Yep, did use ordinary bulbs before my hps as my previous grow took forever and a day to finish up. It was worth the wait though, managed to get about 6 Big Ones from 3 plants, it was my first grow, so well chuffed.

I was going to buy some flouro tubes, but ended up spending my money on a 250w, 2600 flowering spectrum bulb to go along side my 400w HPS instead.

Tried the hand trick & I could lower them by 5"-8" I think, but will leave as is at present, If it ain't broke & all that :~)

Yours look much more advanced at 5 weeks, good work...

Cheers

Tried the hand trick before & in my opinion I could lower the HPS by a good 5", I also have a fan which keeps the temps down.

yeh one of mine stayed very skinny and tall where the other stayed really short and bushy. i gave them some nutrients and the exploded with new growth and started piling on the buds. reckon there must be an eighth on them already and only been flowering a week lol.

i'l keep an eye on your grow im interested in the wr's

Are they auto fems? If not, males normally show around day 17 and females show around day 20. By your post, you are ar day 28ish? Can you tell their sex yet?

Hi Boneman,

Yes they are auto fems & the female pistols are showing.

I am hoping for a big spurt in growth now that they are under the HPS.

na thats what we were just trying to find out.

wr's tend to take a long time to show. even up to 30 days.

I think I may have 2 x girls & 1 x boy/hermi.

I say hermi as they were female seeds.

There is a little pod coming off the stem on one of them...the other two are showing female pistols.

The pics aren't very clear, but you can just make out the pods.

On my last grow I confused calyx's for male balls, but these seem more oval shaped here and it is too early for the calyx to swell.

Cheers Fyfe,

Thats what I thought.

They were Lowlife White Russian Feminised seeds, have just checked the packet.

I can't see any signs female pre flowers on him, but I can on the other two.

How long can I leave it or should I remove straight away?
