Can someone tell me any benefit of autos over fem photo besides being able to throw plants at any stage in a tent please?
some more:
Outdoor - they can bloom in full summer.
Indoor - 20h light per could potentially mean more photosynthesis. (theres pros n cons here, but here on RIU lots of monster auto colas...)

Top point about power outages. I lose power on a monthly basis from storms, i would be screw with photo's
tbh I cant see the point here... power outages wont create revegs just a loss of harvest in both cases...

That’s a very solid point and actually I am looking into getting an auto for outdoors this summer in Canada :) There’s no chance she would finish by mid October before she froze to death... or earlier.

I didn’t mean to sound contrary, I approve of autos, just wanted to hear why :) I guess the light timing plays a big enough factor to be the factor haha

I just don’t understand, but then again I haven’t really looked into them a ton cause I know they’re not for me.
If you haven't looked into them and don't know the advantages or disadvantages of them... You can't really make an informed decision as to whether or not they "are for you".. there are several benefits. They typically yield better in a shorter amount of time than photos. They are not as sensitive to light leaks or a disruption in the light cycle "power outage". Since they finish so fast you can get more harvests in a year. If you have a short summer or like me don't have the best climate for growing, you can start them indoors and then place them outside to finish under the sun during the short summer without worrying about an early fall ruining your crop. If you grow indoors... Your crop goes from seed to harvest so fast you rarely have to worry about pests because by the time anything finds your plants, they are ready to harvest. They typically use fewer nutrients. If you have good soil it takes very little knowledge to get a good yield.

They are more benefits sure... But their are drawbacks as well... You can't control exactly when your plants start to flower, every plant is different and will yeild different results. If you find a pheno you love... You can't clone it and keep a mother. You will have to either buy or make your own seeds all the time.

Well I knew enough to know I wanted to flower my plants when I wanted to flower them. Sorry didn’t mean to come off as combative, was trying to inquire just came out a little rude initially :)

It's all good buddy. I wish you had a better way of knowing what you were getting with autos. I have always wanted to do a scrog and I don't think that is very practical with autos. I will probably try to run a scrog with photos eventually... Maybe next winter. I still have some photo fem seeds like Ice, Cookies Haze, Cookies Kush, Raspberry Diesel, and Cheese that I really want to grow out.

I grew ice a few years back. I grew a few other strains with it and the ice was easily my favorite of the bunch.
That’s great to hear!!! I haven’t grown her before but damn if she wasn’t easily the best smoke I’ve ever had!

I'm only on my first grow ever so I have only my current experience. This girl is 90 days old today. I must have just gotten lucky because I topped, chopped, tied, stripped her more than once. 24 hour light since flower. I just kept saying it's a weed it's just a weed.IMG_20200107_120323527.jpgIMG_20200107_120124940_HDR.jpg

Hell of a job there. So when you grow your 2nd plant, try not to change everything and do 1000s of experiments and just keep doing what got you this beautiful huge ass plant XD people always have the need to go crazy and for no reason.
